Tuning Impact mk2 barrel shroud question

I have a question about the impact outer barrel shrouds I have a 500 mm 25 cal barrel kit and a 30cal barrel kit the 30cal doesn't have the outer shroud my question is will the outer shroud from the 25 cal screw onto the 30 cal barrel it is 500 mm also or do I have to find a shroud specifically for 30 cal barrel

The shroud will, the moderator will not. Or rather confirm that the moderator has clearance for the larger ammo.

It will screw on. I put a 25 shroud on a 30 cal barrel by mistake and it shot terrible. I found the 30 cal slug was getting sized on the way out and leaving a good amount of lead in the shroud because the hole diameter in the air stripper type of unit in the shroud was smaller than the 30 slug.

So if I size it up for 30 cal will it hurt any thing my moderator is a 25 or 30 cal it said when I ordered it . I suppose the air stripper won't be as effective for 25 cal if I up sized it to use on both calibers

For Impact MKII shroud, the parts is 'compensator fixed'. It has different caliber. So you can use the bigger caliber shroud on smaller ones. Like you can put the .30 shroud on any .25, .22 and .177 barrel.

So opening it up some to accept 30 cal won't work or will it I would just open it up so it would have a few thousandths clearance probably aluminum anyway

It should work if open up carefully.

It's a part you could order from FX USA. Use heat to remove the existing one if you go that route.

Does anyone know the size of end of a 30 cal shroud the I.d. of the front of it
