So I recently got my MK3 impact .30cal with 700mm barrel. I am wondering if I need to do anything specific before shooting slugs?? I've read conflicting information and would like a more straight forward answer! Anything helps
turn up the reg pressure. depending on slug weight will dictate what barrel you really need. I have both superior and heavy superior. running a NOE .30 cal 55 gr slug mold currently and seeing decent results with the superior liner. the heavy isn't as good. would like to find a 1:37 twist .30 barrel to try out.
Matthew, you are correct in your readings of conflicting information. Plenty of it, but, there is good information as well. Your M3 has some "basic" settings that FX sends them out of the factory shooting a "standard pellet weight at a general +-FPS". FX publishes these settings and we can always go back to the benchmark and start over. That being said, why not shoot some slugs that are the same weight as the factory published pellet FPS weight? Never know until you try Your liner, your "factory tune", your slug...All make a difference in Your M3! No "Magic dust Tune" compared with my M3 tune that will necessarily work in your M3. Start where you are , not where I am. As always, have fun.
