Anyone care to share their rifle tuning info? I’m currently shooting javelin slugs, 34 grain at around 980 ft./s. Has anyone found a brand of slug that seems to work well in their impacts? Thanks for your thoughts.
I have found NSA slugs shoot very well out of FX slug liners. What are you wanting to gain with another tune? really need to know what your objective is before people start offering advice.
Not sure why many folks try to copy Matt dubb or those south African guys. In their country they are limit to only .22 cal. That is why they push their guns to the limit. Monkey see monkey do isn't always the best. My advice is try a few different slugs from 800fps to 980 fps and see what's best for you gun instead of trying to copy other. My impact .25 cal slug liner loves 36gr nsa slug at 960-980 fps.
How tight is your standard deviation on your chronograph? Say a ten or twenty shot string? If it is within 5-7 fps about all you can do is start playing with the valve adjuster knob. I would try turning it in by maybe 1/8 turn increments. Understand the first 5-10 shots mean nothing. It will take that long for the adjustment to settle in.
