Impact of tarriff on China?

Just ignore the inflationary pressure the tariffs will cause.

Then a miracle will happen and millions of manufacturing jobs will just appear, ignoring the fact the infrastructure for those jobs no longer exists and would take a decade to recreate.

A brilliant plan, as usual.
No pain no gain. Suck it up Buttercup

I'm with Vetmx on this. I'm not losing any sleep over any of this. Even if I have to pay a little more to shoot my airguns, I'm not going to stop doing it. And it's not productive to worry about things I can't change. It's just better to focus more on becoming a better shooter and less on economics.
Less on economics, unless of course the historical results of tariff trade wars rears its head and we end up in a recession or depression.

Nothing good ever comes from broad protectionist policy.

There is no gain to be had, stagnant economy is the least damaging effect. More often inflation, recession, empty shelves, unemployment.

The last time the US tried implementing broad protectionist policy was 1930 and the Smoot-Hawley Trade Act. The result of which took fragile economy and turned it into the depression.

But this time it will work, right? Just because it has never worked in the past does not mean it won't work this time.

Actually, the tariffs thus far have been very successful.

I am in favor of most of our new president's actions but I wonder what impact tariffs on China will have. My favorite P35s easily fit under the now former $800 limit for application of the former tariff. Now I've heard that has gone away. Our less expensive guns and compressers come from China. I guess they will now be a little more expensive. I hope that is the only impact.
Due to new U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports, expect possible price changes on air rifles and related gear. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more!

In what way?

The current proposal is for broad reaching across the board tariffs. Which literally have not been done since Smoot-Hawley.

Targeted tariffs are different and are used to counter such things as government subsidies or product dumping.
Pretty sure Mexico and Canada have already somewhat caved. Believe they are heading to negotiations. Anyway can’t really go much into hear. Already had too many hand slaps as it is. I say just let this play out before resorting to worst case scenario.

Well I have had just about enough of UPS. I will choose other shippers and recommend my friends here do the same.
They prohibit shipment of FIREarm accessories, FIREarms too I think. They do not understand at all that my guns are not FIREarms and refuse to accept items for shipment. As consumers the only power we have is the power of the purse, I'll make a point to avoid using UPS when possible. UPS stores are the WORST, and are not a part of UPS, another way to mislead the consumer.

Yes I try not to give UPS 1 red cent. I had a spotting scope that went bad, and I had to send it in for warranty. It said SCOPE on the box and UPS rejected it, because it COULD be used with FIREarms. I told them I used it for bird watching😉 but they wouldn't buy it. I use USPS priority most of the time. It's usually cheaper and and go from coast to coast in about 3 days.

Guessing you probably went to a UPS store. They are independent franchises with different rules. Never had a problem shipping a firearm with UPS as long as it is taken to a hub. Fedex office here was similar. Wouldn’t accept unless going for repair. Of course all were going for repair right ? Many FFL’s won’t even accept a shipment from an individual.
Stupid people cause most of this. Fedex Freight years ago got sued for millions by the state of NY for delivering non taxed cigarettes. Even though these palletized shipments are shrink wrapped and it really wasn’t evident if the tax stamps were present on the packs. Now they no longer transport any tobacco products.

Canada never caved, their "recent" agreement is something they said they were doing last year in November. So the PM of Canada got the US to agree to a plan already set forth to commence.

If history teaches, my guess is that when the dust settles, we will see a tariff effect of around 10%. Without government interference, economic theory suggests that all parties will develop products that can be sold at a price to yield an acceptable profit. Of course that's not happening. Regarding the "concessions" by Mexico and Canada, those decisions were already made, not the result of the current executive action. Sometimes the con man falls victim to the long con himself.

I just use Pirate Ship and print my own label. Then just drop it off, no questions asked.

Pretty sure I heard the tariffs are on hold for 30 days pending negotiations? If so the power through strength might work. These tariffs are for the most part a negotiating tool. Our POTUS is transactional looking for positive results. It’s a tool I don’t believe he is any more interested in starting a massive world wide trade war any more than he is interested in direct war with China. I say just let this play out. Dang probably get banned again. I ask for no more leash I’m done.
