Impressed then depressed

I would like to get out and shoot the long version of field target over in Phoenix. The closest air rifle I have that could be suitable is my Taipan 22 standard. I went over to my buddies house where I can shoot a hundred. First problem was I didn't take my tape so I stepped off a hundred. My range finder said it was 120 but I think it was wrong. I dialed my elevation according to my Sterlock. I shot a 10 shot mag. From the hood of my truck resting on coats. To my surprise they grouped about 1 1/2 inch. Wow I was impressed. So I set up my stool and sticks. My group turned into a 3” pattern. I guess I will get out and try the shoot with this set up. It’s not ideal. I have a couple small bores with nice stocks that I could shoot better, I think. I never shot them off sticks and bucket but they shoot better off the bench.

Shooting a PUP in the FT game ... Try shooting off your knee such as this.

While a PISTOL is shown ... I personally shoot my TAIPAN std very similar. With some practice and getting scope position far enough forward a VERY stable and accurate position.

thanks for the tip. I tried doing this but my neck won't cooperate.

But with a higher bucket and my legs straight like in your picture with my elbows on my knees I shot a little better today with the Taipan.
