Have read that using a air pistol to improve accuracy when shooting my ccw would be a good to accomplish this and save a lot on ammo costs. I can see how this may work but feel that you should be using something of similar size and shape? Don:t know that using a revolver air piistol when the carry pistol is a compact semi-auto would be of much help. I would like to get feedback from those that may have experience along this line. THANKS in advance for any advice and possible recomendations of pistols.

The link has many pages of pellet pistols of all kinds. Some are cheap plastic others are heavy metal and can approximate the shape and heft of the real pistols they imitate.
I would think that a gun as close to the size and weight, of the one you are training with, would be best.

Yes, it can help,many do it.I have all metal replicas of my "real" pistols. One can get just about any replica for all popular handguns....I think the green gas ones come the closet to the real thing.That said,it may be easier to get a BB or Pellet replica that works better for you,I say that because the "green gas"ones need to be charged....they shoot round plastic balls.

Fact is many police departments use replicas to teach and practice with.
Almost any popular handgun has a replica,no need to worry about a six-gun only....
For sure my all steel replicas are just like the real thing and function the same way....

Hello airguns can be a great training tool. Sight alignment and trigger control can be achieved with just about any accurate air pistol. If you are trying to replicate a certain gun you may have some difficulties in it doing everything. With that said you can mimic size, shape, weight, trigger pull weigh, and possible action (revolver/blow back). It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Is it? Draw from holster, accuracy, move and shoot, controlled pairs(double taps) etc. but there is no one airgun what can do everything you may need to do expecially when it comes to a reload as airguns are unique to the way they reload( except maybe a revolver). As for a suggestion if you are looking for a revolver there are many replicas depending on frame size from a used Crosman 38t, Crosman snr357 and many others. For a pistol you have Sig and Glock as well as many more by companies like Umarex and others. Hope this helps Eric

All trigger-time improves all shooting skills. But the closer you can get to increasing trigger-time with weapons (yes, I just said that) as close as possible to those you want to improve your skills with, the better.

I have a couple co2 pistols that closely mimic my EDC. Great practice tool, as well as an educational one. Way better than "blue guns" IMO.
