Impulse air mods

I have gotten my hands on a 1200 as well as a 1350 that I am going to be playing with.

I will be using my American Air Arms Paradigm with a Donny adapter. Will use on a few different rifles to see if there is any difference between rifles. Plan on getting some video from right at the gun, as well as on the target 50 or 100 yards away to hear any differences. Waiting on the snow to melt in my area to get some really solid video.

I will be testing the Impulse Air against a Huggett Swirl, a DonnyFl Shogun, the shroud that comes on the Paradigm. I believe I have a stock Fx mod as well that I can test, and will see about getting a few others as well if I can get my hands on them.

But as of right now I can say that the machining and manufacturing process with the Impulse is very impressive. If there is anything you guys are wanting to see let me know and I will do my best to get them incorporated.

I do have a DFL FX and can vouch for this. The DFL feels like something made for airguns. The IA feels like real hardware. The IA appears to be anodized aluminum whereas the FX is coated. The IA with +2 baffles feels lighter in the hand however that would need validation.

Did you ever do the comparison???

I did and have been busy with a new job that I didn't get anything put up.

To my ear they are all extremely close in sound level. But there is a pitch difference between all the units.

I have decided to go with the 1350 on the Paradigm as it is shorter and easy to remove with the quick detach. The stock unit on the Paradigm works great, but I can't fit the rifle into the case that I have with it on.

That’s my same experience with the two different impulses - although the quieter discharge gets - the louder the action seems 🤣

Maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet, but I'm not finding anything on IA's website about a quick detach? Does it work like the QD from DonnyFL or Edgun Behemoth?

My IA 1200 does a good job on my .177 barrel for my M3.
But just for fun.. I wanted to fit it on my Steyr LP50.
So I machined up an adapter the replaces the air stripper cone in the shroud.
There is a small projected ring the will sit in the recessed target crown.
Also using a 30° dovetail cutter, I milled an inclined slot.
This will force the adapter up to the barrel face when the set screw is tighten..

The LP50 doesn't have a Big Bark... But it doe have a sharp Pop!
Also you can see those 3 compensator slots cut in the top of the shroud... They correspond to holes down the barrel.
So this doesn't help keeping things quiet... But I the 1200 does it's job on the Steyr too!
