Well yesterday the big drop time showed up at 6:00pm! Had my son-in-law hunting with me who has never shot a deer, or anything alive. So I let him shoot. 40yrds broad side. We waited 45mins hopped out blind and found real good blood, from impact to 35yrds. Thin blood thin down to drops until nothing. Last blood found at edge big hay field. We looked until 1am nothing. Went back at day brake and searched until 3pm, still no deer. Unfortunately we never found it. Now we just gotta watch for the buzzards. Hopefully we can at least get the rack. So after grabbing quick bite to eat. I got back in blind. I really wanted to try out these NSA 350gr boat tail, hollow points slugs . At last light I let this nice doe have one of the slugs. Man they hit hard. 90yrds slightly quarter away. I hit inribs come out opposite shoulder, piercing the heart. I cannot believe the slugs went all the way through at 90 yards last year. I was shooting for 50 grain boat. Slugs shot a deer at 87 and it did not go through. I really can’t believe the performance of these slugs. They are awesome pictures below. The blood spot is one of five of the big spots from the buck that got away. Thanks for reading and good hunting. Pictures are a little graphic. I wanted y’all to see what it did to that front shoulder. It almost took the whole shoulder off.
