In search of the elusive one hole group

I say it's impossible to have a 0.0" CTC group in practice. Even with all human error removed there are mechanical inconsistencies that cannot be eliminated. Back in the 90's I was at my gun club and they had a machine rest set up. One guy clamped a .45 1911 in it and loaded it with ball ammo. Fired it using one of those old school remote camera shutter trigger cables. 1.5" group at 50 yards. Astonishing since the best he could do without the rest was 8" at same distance.

You may be able to "asymptotically" approach 0.00" CTC but it's a bit like reaching the speed of light with anything but, well, light. In any case working hard and reaching 0.9999c is loads of fun.

By the way outstanding shooting(y), my one holes look nothing like that! Regards
