Slugs can be a hit or miss, no pun intended. The JSB hades or fx atómics expand very well. For hunting applications i would utilize hades for anything under 70 yards. I shoot .22 so anything over 70 is rough with wind. Now for 100 yards plus I’d use heavy pellets or slugs. Depends on the size of game and weather conditions
