In your opinion what is the Best Scope for 25-yard Benchrest

My opinion only! March, leupold, Sightron.

March= precision, clarity, reticle and magnification choices, warranty.

leupold= Pretty much the Same.

Sightron= Fixed power 45x, good value, not as clear as other two.

I have not personally owned the March but have shot guns with the march scopes, one is a 80x, the other a 60x!
I had a leupold 40x on my old center fire BR gun. And now have the sightron (all I can afford right now) and in all honesty I don’t believe the March is worth the extra money for what you get vs. the leupold.

Remember most shooters want to put the weight in the gun not the scope!

25yards is close range,I use 7power,at that range Hawke Airmax,Sightron and Burris work out great, why, because I get good deals on them, some of the Nikon scopes, and always Leupold because they are great. At 25 yds.I like mil-dot....also a fixed power scope under 10 power would be good.
Don't need to break the bank or need a big fat scope at that range.

The best 1 iis the 1 you can see the crosshairs and target the best and allows you to shoot most accurately. I like the element helix and its reticle for paperpunching but hate it for anything else as the reticle is too fine and small. For hunting and field target i prefer athlon argos as the reticle is larger and it’s illuminated. Both ffp and moa. Everyones eyes and aiming preferences are different

I have tried many scopes for this discipline but settled on the Sightron 45 fixed power with ED glass. I plan to get the March 48 power soon. You don't need variable power (and zoom lenses are never as sharp as fixed power -I learned that from photo days). You will appreciate high magnification since we know that you aim small - miss small. If all you see is the bull you are shooting at, it will be easier to focus on the dot in the center. This is a game of patience and complete concentration on all aspects of the shot from cross hair placement to how the trigger feels. Oh, and you don't want view cluttered with cross hatching and fancy reticle hashes. A fine cross hair reticle with center dot is best. Hope this helps.

I have/had tried about a dozen scopes, I don't really like to spend more then $1K range for SFP, all these are not cheap glass and not too expensive scopes. I've got some brand new and some from second hand but most famous.
My glass quality preferences coming from 40 years in photography hobby, so kind of considering myself a picky for clarity.
I am shooting paper rings only. Also I never shoot shorter then 50 meters, until recently a 20 and 40.
22 M or 25 y BR - assuming the gun is clamped down to the table - you can use a tooth pick for aiming. I said this same million times to my archery colleagues as well. ;)

Try shooting this target at 25-yards with your setup!

I do similar, 90% of the time.

10M, 40F, and 25Y are all I have and all i shoot. 25Y typically, the "short side" is for co2 and 10M off-hand.

i love that Diana 350, but man, it's a beast. need something a little lighter, but more power than the Daisy.

anyway, i can't see the dime and 30-yard challenge targets with diopter or open sights. so i make my own. :)

that little daisy is a ninja, even in my old hands.

i don't tend to use optics anymore 'cept for fun and cool-factor.

gets too easy otherwise when it's all i do. i try standing and prone, but my bones don't take that as well as they used to.

anyway, back to scopes. i just can't justify paying a lot for a scope that does little more than travel from hanging on the wall to the backyard.

I'd say the best glass you are willing to shell out for in tandem with a reticle that suits your eye and like Ross said above, a non zoom scope/lens will give the clearest view (less elements/distortion and fringing) ala photography lenses, single focal length lenses. Just depends on your wants/needs and suit your eye.

Also I wanted to add with Leupold you can customize your reticle and or Premier Reticle will make a custom Reticle for you, but it used to be only for Leupold?
just for info...leupold doe NOT put in any reticles that are not already in the scope when you buy it. That stopped years ago, which sucks because a MD reticle in the 35 or 40 competition series is awesome.
