Info on older Hawke HD Sport 3-9x40 AO scope

Yep, the Sport HD line is the version Hawke sold before coming out with the Vantage line they now have. First Hawke scope I ever bought 5 years ago and still have it in it's original box after I got a liking for IR reticles and bought a Vantage 4-12x50 AO IR scope for my Hatsan Model 95 .25. It did spend some time on an Edge .25 cal springer, had close to 5000 shots on it and still worked just fine when I put it away in favor of a reflex sight on that Edge for short range heavy brush shooting where a scope just didn't work well.

Wire reticle and a bit on the thicker side but not bad, need a small screwdriver or a coin to adjust the turrets but I never had a problem with it or hitting what I was aiming at as long as I didn't shank my shot...lol.

Thx !

Not much difference between the Sport HD and the Vantage, 'cept maybe the name and the Vantage has finger adjustable turrets. The non IR Vantage scopes are all wire reticles, the IR versions (I have something like a dozen) are all etched glass and might be a large part of the reason (least it's what I've always figured) they've held up well on the 14+ fpe rifles they're all mounted on even though Hawke says not to use them on anything over 12. Never had a problem with any of them and so far have never needed to test the warranty.

Yes Yo, I have my receipts...lol.
