Input wanted - RAW HM1000X .30 shortened into a Carbine

I have been thinking about something for over a year and would like input on the feasibility of turning a .30 RAW HM1000X into a carbine. Can it be done? Taking 3" - 6" off
the barrel and 3" off the stock. Has anyone done that before? I know velocity will drop with every inch taken off the barrel but, would I be able to maintain 1" groups out to 75 yards?
Any idea's on effectively moderating it? advice from Rapid owners / modifiers welcome. Thanks, Hunter

I don't know the rifle but as a general point, if the specific rifle is regulated, in order to reduce muzzle blast it may be possible to increase the pressure upon the valve while reducing the dwell time of the valve. But, 6 inches is a heck of a PCP barrel reduction. Have you thought about a bullpup conversion ala Wingman New Zealand, therein keeping your present barrel size?

Hunter, I think that if you do have it done, it will wind up being an action that just misses the mark for "doing" it for you. I mean, the .30 even at 60 ft/lbs is a fun gun to shoot. At 60ft/lbs the gun is quite quiet, gets gobs and gobs of shots on a fill - but has a very loopy trajectory that will frustrate those accustomed to something like the Wolverine in .30 ;-) So, this s going to have you wanting to push velocity up to the 70-75ft/lb range - With a shorter barrel, you do need to increase reg set pressure to push velocity, which in turn makes the gun louder - quite a good pop with no shroud/mod. Now you need to add length to the mod to compensate for the extra noise, and you wind up back where you started from length wise...
