Installed new laminate furniture on FX Maverick

Got my set of wood furniture today, took an amazing 3 days only!

Yeah baby!

Thanks for the heads up on Huma having them in stock, like the grip

I'm still waiting on a Foster hose I ordered from Pyramyd in APRIL. It's said it'll be in stock 7 days out this entire time. Utah Airguns, NSA, and Huma are the only airgun vendors I trust to actually ship things anymore.

Glad you got your furniture expediently. You'll need some M4x10 socket head screws for the cheek piece; I grabbed some locally from Fastenal.

The grip is indeed very comfy. I'm shooting slugs at steel spinners tomorrow, so I'm excited to actually shoot with the new grip.

The OEM screws won’t work?

M4x10 socket head screws?

The OEM screws are M4x6mm, because the plastic cheek has less material under the counterbore than the laminate (the laminate would snap if it was that thin). M4x8mm might actually be a better fit; 10mm looked pretty close to bottoming out. On mine, the counterbores were also VERY tight, so the screw squeaked the whole way in. But the holes were perfectly lined up, so the tight clearances weren't a problem.

OK, thanks for the info, my New Maverick in for repair in NC right now so I won't have her back for a week to try the wood on the Mav

Thanks

Huma said for me to now keep them and they will send out Maverick one, I'm impressed

I am Huub, the owner of Huma-Air.

My colleague Marc told me there is an issue with the butt stock/ fitting of your Maverick grip set.

He showed me the pictures and we are very sorry about this.

We are currently in contact with our supplier in Indonesia to find out what happened, and more important, how we can solve it.

In the meantime, we took the sets off the website so other people won’t have the same issue.

I even had my OEM butt pad lowered a bit, so I didn't even notice that the laminate butt pad won't go all the way up. Seems like it would be a quick Dremel job on a non-visible portion of the laminate butt stock to fix (I know, no one wants to Dremel a new+expensive piece of wood to make it fit, but even expensive GRS stocks usually need some inletting to fit).

@Goldwing, did you have any issues with fitment of the cheek piece? Other than the longer screw issue I mentioned, mine seems to fit fine.

I never put them on or modified them, there sitting in a box, waiting on Huma to send me replacements

Huub, runs a great operation, customer service is excellent...

What's the links to the other custom furniture?

This guy on Ebay was selling 'custom' Maverick furniture, but the price was outrageous, lead time was months, and when I inquired he said he couldn't guarantee the grip wouldn't break if I picked up the gun by the grip....so I passed on that. He's no longer offering this product on Ebay, so it seems like I made the right decision.

Ebay Maverick furniture
