Intenseaty22’s HW30S Urban Pro

Lookin' good Christian. Excellent choice. I had a HW30 for about a year. They are fine little guns. Had to let it go when I was thinning out the herd a few years back.

Down to just 5 PCP's now. Not a springer in the house. Hard enough to give these five guns all fair time behind the trigger.
If I was ever in the mood for another springer the Urban Pro would be near the top of the list. That laminate stock is the bomb!

Update: After taking in advice on the subject from several members, I decided to retrofit the HW30 with a Maccari Spring Kit. The new spring was installed today, it was a fairly straightforward affair. The worst of it was the spring preload. Some kind of press would be advantageous. In the end it took my son and I simultaneously pushing down on the gun and inserting a pin to hold it in place. Let's just say I need to work out a bit.

Took a few test shots at 8 yards. Loading was VERY smooth. Shooting cycle was just what I was hoping for, just a thud. At 8 yards, it was literally a single hole, shooting off the bench with the gun resting on my bare hand, no sand bag.

The stock spring was a bit longer, thinner maybe? but definitely deformed/warped. It was also greased up to the hilt. Either way, I think that changing the spring was the right move. A bit more expensive, but I think it was worth it. Further testing will tell.

I will try and stretch it out tomorrow a bit. 30 yards if I can. Will post results as soon as I test shoot.

Here is a picture of the stock Spring. Kinda telling.

Notice how it’s bowed. The new one is a bit shorter and straight as an arrow!

Time for an update:

Pictured below is the Urban Pro with it's new DonnyFL Tanto and Carbon Fiber bling sleeve that I added a few weeks ago. Looks great in my opinion, and the CF tube gave the barrel a bit more girth, very handy when cocking the gun....BUT :(

A few days later I noticed the gun was shooting really erratic. It was still dead on, pellet on pellet at 20 to even close to 30, but each session of shooting now required to be re-zeroed. Long story short, it was the CF shroud. Damn! Oh well, I'm a snob, but not at the expense of accuracy, I have vermin to kill! So I took it off, re-zeroed, and tested over a couple of days. Sure enough, gun still spot on, not loosing zero. I will figure out how to replace the CF without causing problems, already have a plan, but that must wait.

Below is a 7 to 10 shot group at 21 yards that was shot randomly throughout the day of testing and a couple more shots two days later into the same hole.

I will probably do a bit more on the gun in days to come, will update if & when.

Nicely done my friend. You wouldn’t believe it but the second scope I put on my little arrow shooter died yesterday. I had 3 old scopes in the office that at one stage must have been on my scope killing 177 Titan and two have failed on the 30. Anyway I’ve followed suit and bought a Hawke Airmax 2*7*32 for it, arrives on Thursday. I hope the glass is as good as my other Airmax’s.
