AoA said they weren't received all that well and there likely won't be another run of them.

I'm hoping to find a used one or find a black/gray laminate stock and turn a delux into my own.

Any tips on where to look?

Well that’s interesting information. You aren’t the only one who specifically wants one. Lots of folk just fall in love with the Urban in black pepper laminate. Heck, I almost bought a second one. Not received well? Yeah, interesting, but I guess it may all be in the numbers. Who knows.

Anyway, no clue. Just keep looking at classifieds & AoA used section. You never know when one may pop up.

How did you get the included moderator off the urban pro? Was it threaded underneath or a push on? I just got one in the mail today and was surprised when it would not screw off.

Painter’s heat gun. Lots of heat. It’s threaded, long thread with lots of goop. Might as well be welded on. I damaged the original moderator a little bit because I was using too much force & not enough heat. Good luck.

Thanks, I’ll try to finesse it should I attempt the removal. I have been wondering how you are supposed to clean the thing if it will not readily detach….

Stick a drinking straw in through the moderator and run your pull through patch through the straw

Do you think it is possible to remove it without damaging the moderator? Any concerns on damage to the barrel with all that heat?

I ask this as I would prefer to be able to remove it for cleaning, and to compare the Weihrauch moderator to a DonnyFL model, but not at the risk of messing with the overall performance of the HW30. With the straw suggestion for the patch, I don’t NEED to remove it.

Well you can remove the can from the threaded barrel adapter which is what I often do as it can be a pain to use the straw method.

To be honest the Weihrauch moderator is among the best in class and it us unlikely that you will notice little difference between the donny and stock weihrauch and certainly not worth the risk of damaging you rifle.

The heat will not damage the barrel or the moderator. The Weihrauch moderator is excellent, however, I hate the idea of it being affixed permanently. I wanted to try different ones, shorter ones. I wanted the ease of cleaning. I also wanted to fit the Carbon Fiber tube around the barrel for a little bit of bling.

Yeah, I certainly don’t want to damage it, but I don’t like having it permanently attached.

Same way I like accuracy, reliability, and functionality, I also like nice looks on my guns. This is how it currently looks.

Thanks. It’s a Huggett Atom. For what the gun is, a very low powered springer, it does just fine. No discernible difference between the two. However, I can tell the difference without it on there.
