Other Interest in Macavity Arms

Call me a sucker for good advertisement and simple reviews, both styles of propaganda, but I have recently become interested in the Macavity Arms Agility MA2 in .22 cal. Has anyone here actually purchased and shot this thing? If so, what are your observations concerning accuracy, efficiency, strength of the stock (especially the front pic rail flexing) and any other thoughts about the gun you may have. Thanks in advance.

Just so you know, https://maplecustomproducts.com/collections/macavity-arms
These magazines are far superior to their plastic ones, and are better than their metal ones too because they have a clever way of showing you when you are down to your last three shots and they block the chamber when empty so you don't shoot on an empty chamber.

I have the shorter version (standard). The sniper version is a bit longer. The weight difference was a big seller for me. The standard is only 5.9 lbs without scope. The JTS is about 10 lbs with scope. A great bench shooter, but not much for carrying on a hunt. I am not a big fan of the MA2 stock, not very sturdy at the lower pic rail. But I don't use a bipod very often, so not much problem. Especially with weight and accuracy, I am enjoying this rifle very much. I don't think you would be disappointed. Hopefully with popularity, Buckrail will come out with a better stock.

Anything over 39" is a deal breaker for me anymore. It's 2024, these companies should be producing compact and powerful with functional shroud by now.

I see the Agility model is supposedly 37" long. Does that include moderator length? I doubt it.
Yeah but for under $500, unless the higher end stuff comes down even cheaper I doubt we'll get that at the lower prices.

The short version with a buckrail moderator(which is a little longer) is 41". If a couple of inches makes a difference, there are plenty of powerful bullpups out there.

I've had my MA2 .30 cal a couple of months now. It is quickly becoming my favorite. Accuracy is very good. 1/2" groups or less at 50 yds. As far as the stock. It is a little wobbly at the pic rail. Not a deal breaker for because I don't use a bipod very often. I am curious though to see if buckrail comes up with something.

What energy does the shorter Ma2 30 make out of the box ?

Not exactly sure. I don't have a chrony. They advertise 81 fpe, which I am sure is under perfect conditions. I do know it hits heavier than my JTS .30, which advertises 71 fpe. The MA2 is easily swings steel gongs at 100yds. with a heavy audible report.

@Trucker3573
I've seen multiple videos now, Shooter 1721 made a video shooting in 20° where the gun was getting 820 feet per second.And i've seen videos where the gun will out of the box do anywhere between 860 Md 870
