Interesting rifling in an airgun

Took a gun apart to finally getting around to getting it resealed.

The rifling is straight, no twist in it at all.

It was hard to photograph, but it definitely straight lines.

It's in an older Bosler Big Bore

that is indeed very interesting...is it accurate?
I'm not sure yet. The guns about 275 years old.
The tank needed to come out to get resealed, and in that process I removed the breach block from the barrel... mainly out of curiosity

So hopefully in a month or so I'll be able to find out how it shoots

oh I understand :) I did not realize how old it was lol.

That's how a lot of slug guns (powderburning shotguns designed for slugs) work. Not exactly rifle accuracy, but not bad either.

GsT
I have never seen a modern shotgun slug barrel like that. I have an early 70's Remington slug barrel that is simply a cylinder bore, ie smoothbore with rifle sights added, and a later aftermarket barrel that is rifled just like a normal rifle barrel.

See, this is where you show a picture of the gun...BEFORE you too it apart so we'd have some CONTEXT. Yeah I know radical thought. 😏
