Introducing the Daystate Black Wolf!

Watched Sub12’s teardown video of the Blackwolf…

… interesting that this is a mechanical Daystate that may not use their slingshot hammer system.

It uses a traditional valve in sub12 ft/lb versions and a balanced valve in full power versions.

Perhaps with the balanced valve and large plenum, it will utilize a lower regulator pressure than used in Wolverines and Huntsmans…?

I see preorder opportunities out there. Any idea when we can expect dealers to receive shipments?
Spoke to AOA just now. It will be like the last few Daystate releases. If you want one, you better be on preorder. Current stock sold out immediately, but they do have 1 Carbon .177 17”. Will be getting shipments monthly, but expect to probably sell out in preorders. Asked about the Tactical Chassis model, and there is a delay on those, so not expecting them for 60 days.

Is that a new Daystate with a real (machined with the receiver) picatinny scope rail?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I never thought I would see this day, I mean I was expecting to see it about a decade ago, but it never happened, its been a long wait.

Cheap compared to the Red Wolf GP... LOL

Still can't get over the fact that a Thomas is cheaper than a Red Wolf GP. No dig on either, both are amazing, I think maybe 20 to 50 Thomas FT carbines are made each year, I have no idea how many of the RW GP's are made each year.

This Back Wolf looks great. Not a fan of the other newer Daystate designs at all.

I converted the UK price to USD for the gray stock.
I just looked at AOA and those $3k guns are way too high. There's a lot of guns that cost half that, that will shoot just as good.
Hey, i hope they sell a ton of them. I'm pretty immune to high prices, heck just look in the classifieds what they're asking for used guns, but even i won't pay $3k for an airgun.

One thing is kind of surprising, is that used guns just are not selling, and yet they're selling out of a super expensive new DS,... go figure. Think about it, i could buy two really nice top of the line used pcps and still have almost $1k for equipment and pellets.

So I have mixed feelings here.
The Grade 2 Minelli stock is gorgeous.
It is just what you expect out of them have had several AA rifles that have Minelli.

I don't think the gun justifies the price.
It is what I expected in that it was a 100+ ft lb gun to join the others.
Surprised with it being Daystate Wolf about the mech gun since that is more BRK thing and less of a Wolf thing.
But there is nothing that is over the top to justify the price.
I struggle to keep my .30 cal Panthera under 100.
And a some of the big competitions limit you to that for Bench Rest 100 yard.
So unless your going 30 slugs for ELR, dont need more power. But I could if I needed to.

And the Tactical.
It is sharp it looks just as nice as an Airmaks Katran NX for about a $2100 more!
And the chassis is a blend of high tech alloys and "polymers"
So is it just the cheek rest and grip that are polymer based or is the middle section of the chassis as well.
I could not get out of work to go, so i have not seen in person, but the middle section of the chassis looks poly in the pictures.
When I blow up the angled picture the center section looks to be of the same material as the cheek rest and the shoulder rest.
Guys that went you can correct me if the picture is misleading.

For me too much money and not enough benefit for my interests.
I am more interested in some of the eastern european companies come up with at this point.

It's high, no question, maybe too high, I dunno. BUT, I will say, it checks ALL the boxes. If I get to the point I want only one gun, the Blackwolf is definitely at the top of the list. It looks like everything I ever wanted in a air rifle.
*not a bullpup
*premium design
*plenty adjustable
*plenty customizable
*choice of air bottle or cyl
*looks to have a fantastic trigger
*perfect weight
*choice of barrel lengths
*excellent power
*Huma reg
*good plenum

What's not to like other than the price?
Another plus is that it comes with a 5 year warranty

DS makes great looking rifles (I have 5 and love them) and this would seem to be the successor to the Wolverine ( I have 2) and a competitor mostly to the Crown since this "platform" is very similar. If they were $1,500ish they would probably fly off the shelves but not at 1.5 and over 2x that price (2200 to 3700 at AOA). I built my collection mostly with used rifles so let's see what I get 5 year from now lol!

and with no barrel issues
I see you are not familiar with the kind of barrels LW will send out of their door, i for damn sure hope Daystate have a good in door inspection, CUZ i would not be able to trust LW.

NE way i like the pipe tacticool version as it have a adequate below barrel / pipe rail, but the price is not to my liking
