Introducing the New FX Panthera: A Dedicated, Purpose-Built Air Rifle Made to Win Precision Rifle Competitions.

For the 700mm version the tungsten hammer should be standard and very likely will but we will see. But for a gun specially made to shoot the 40 grain slugs (700mm) the 1:16 twist rate according to the spec is rather disappointing. Hope they have the 1:14 liner in 700mm one of these days soon but it should be standard the day it ships.
But how else can they later sell you all the extras? It would make too much sense to offer, say, an Impact M3 already setup for slugs....like 18 months ago lol. From a business perspective its genius.

Well the one good thing about that video if true is, apparently the liner itself can be removed to clean, meaning hopefully you won't have to ship the gun to the dealer just to swap the liner when you want a different twist or to clean.

The liner seems pretty easy to change, barrel length change requires/need different plenum and shroud. Caliber might require different valve parts? Not sure why caliber change would require dealer service but we will find out soon.

No way was I going to start a new thread for this (😬), but FX did just release another video with Jon and Hein going over the rifle. Not a lot new for most who have seen the other videos, but they did specifically bring up the flexibility to use this technology and change up how they can attach a bottle or tube possibly in the front. I am most interested in that. I would love to see a blend of this with the Crown to get the power increase and barrel rigidity upgrade with the Crown shot count. While this rifle setup in the chassis is exactly what I want, I do not have the needs that PRS guys have, so a few of the features it has are not exactly what I want. I hope we do get the evolution of this with the larger bottle.

It's interesting that the past couple of weeks I've noted and commented that many of the top airgun PRS shooters are moving from Impact to Crown. Since I'm a Newby to NRL-22, I wondered why. Obviously, FX understood this and came up with this "Super Crown"...
One of our bunch shoots FX air rifles. He has a .22 crown and a .25 impact. He went thru a couple crown barrels but now his crown shoots great. He has shot several 750 match scores and bunches of 248-250 cards in matches all outdoors at 25 meters. He shoots his .25 impact at 50 and farther, but it can't compete with how his crown shoots.

Yes. Significantly more than 10% difference. But my point is all the hoopla emphasizes 40 grain at 1050 so .22 LR performance. Yet the vast majority of paid video show 34 grain which are NOT .22 LR ballistics or BC. And inquiring minds would like to know why?

Also, above one post says the 40 grain slugs are only 60% of the .22LR BC. I’d disagree with that. The .22 LR BC is. between 0.135 and 0.155 depending g on which ammo you shoot. So IF you shot 40 grain slugs at 1050 fps you WOULD be at .22 LR performance and be comparing apples to apples. The .22 LR is still easier to shoot but the 40 grain slug air rifle will have a much better ES.
The only vid(s) Ive seen are from pursuit of accuracy with 33, 36 and 40gr zan with seemingly good results. I dont believe fps was stated.
But yes I was wondering same - why are all the paid shooting 34’s?

Really interested in the Panthera, checks the box's that I am interested in:

NRL22 style shooting, even if the matches are too far of a distance to compete. I want to setup my shooting range that I have been working on for this type of shooting.

Extreme BR, I will be limited to around 75 to possibly 80 yards, but that's going to be extreme for me. :)

Kinda disappointed that FX does not have a better selection of .22 slugs, thought maybe they would have slugs for this Rifle?

Well there are the announced along ago Halo slugs that are not yet in the shops.
But in .22 there are plenty of choice, .177 i shoot well you have some brand and weight choice but unlike .22 you do not have different diameter slugs, like you can get .217 and .218 slugs.

As of right now they just have their old series of slugs.

NSA - Zan and JSB KO slugs all shoot fine in my rifles, i have not had much luck with the H&N ones but i have just tried those in 16 grain, and 16 / 20 grain are not the best no matter the brand in my rifles, 10 - 12 - 13 and 15 grain do pretty well.

Man i wish i could shoot .22, but i dont want to take a rather complicated hunting licence to be able to buy such guns, and in club shooting well it is generally .177 they shoot and the Olympic disciplines, bench rest - field target - PRC and so on, do not exist in Denmark at least not officially, then its just "privateers" like myself that fool around a little.

No delivery in Uk - again it has been postponed until Feb?

How can you guys be all falling all over this bunch of pipes

It is nothing but pipes put together with air shooting though them

Doesn't come close to resembling a riffle IMO
Your description of pipes put together with air shooting through them sorta applies to just about all airguns.

The Panthera looks much better in person than it does online. Saw them on display at Utah Airguns last weekend. And UAs displays are out on the floor, so this was a foot in front of my face.

Will add though, you think they look long in a photo online?!?! WOWZA that 700mm is a looooooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggggg gun in person. Sorta like the Grand Canyon, gotta pan back and forth with your head to take it all in.
