INVICTA FTC APRIL 5TH MATCH REPORT
The day started off at 70 degrees and rose up into the 80’s, that along with the humidity it brought strong winds that the storms were churning up for later that evening, I think perhaps we had the strongest winds in the clubs history to contend with? I was surprised how high the scores were, Bill was using some new AEA 13.7 pellets that made his 20 ft lb Thomas sound like a .22 lr going off!
We had five competitors make it out, Brad as usual was there early helping with the grass and grooming the course and practice in general, thanks Brad, much appreciated!
AAFTA sent us two of the targets used at the World Championships in Arizona last year, much appreciated, and the bison is currently living on lane two at the far target point, and the deer is resting at our middle target point on lane nine, so come to a match and shoot at them!!
Bill with his new pellets won the top score, with Cliff nipping at his heels, it was good to see Cliff recovering so well and so fast, he is an inspiration to me, makes me feel I have a few decades left in my FT career, we will see how I fair…..
Brad brought out his new to him Steyr LG100, it was a real tough day to try out a new rifle, but its a sweet rifle. I rebuilt my regulator since the previous match, and once again its shooting great, just got to figure out how to reduce the winds at the course LOL.
Our next match will be April 26th, I had to juggle dates as I will be attending the inaugural Indiana Airgun show this weekend.
Try and come out to shoot, you will then remember what you are missing, while you are missing targets….
God Bless
