Is this the best group you can shoot, or just one group?
and I do think we need a little more clarity on using a benchrest or not? Or is this FT positions?
mike
Hello there Mike!
I was thinking it would be one group per entry. Maybe as long as 6 days to shoot then enter by Sunday. New distances or bigger caliber start that Monday, and winner announced Monday also?.?. IDK just trying to gauge interest at this point as lots of guys will just pass my posts over.
I’d like it to be a contest that shows .177’s are good for much further than most think.
I totally understand not being able to see as well as we all once did. But trust me on this one.
I use refined factory open sights and just keep shooting from a porch rail at the same point of aim. I can’t even see where I’m hitting or holes. But if there’s no wind and you’re breaking consistently you will be amazed at what you didn’t think that gun, or you can do.
Mike, all FT positions would be allowed. I don’t own a true solid level bench rest.
I consider my porch rail with a bag of dried rice under forestock as being a “Bench Rest” as in, no way I could have done that offhand. Bipods are bench rested in my eyes. Though I don’t know anyone nor have I ever shot a spring gun from a bipod. Do you hear me Hatsan? It’s STUPID. And it would get in the way of cocking your gun
I’m not so sure I want to allow 6 days, enter by 7th & start next phase as that’s gonna lead to very very close calls that I’m not willing to send out 10 tins to 10 different winners.
Mike, if you, anyone that has that computer pixel group measuring system that measures CTC, subtracts the caliber diameter and gives the tightest group to the 4th or 5th decimal point, then that’s the best judge.
If it’s an app I can download on my iPhone then I gladly will.
Let’s toss some ideas & rules of engagement around here, and start practicing.
I’m offering JSB 8.44’s. If anyone wants to add prizes great but I respectfully decline any prize if I’m donating & judging.
