Is 3000 psi enough? Difference regular vs fiber aluminum wrapped tanks?

Yea Yo I noticed that wtf man , all sellers the DOT life is either 2 months away from a recertifications or they hide it be cause it’s expired It cool if you have your own way to fill but I actually just bought a tank and the dude refunded my cash cuz I asked him when it expired and he said it expired in 2010 I said I’m gonna return to if u ship it to me that’s not acceptable he had like 40 of them at 35 bux a pop $10 shipping

guess the hand pumps are looking better ever day I don’t mind if it has a year left of 8 months atleast to get some shots in but 11 years past? Ain’t gonna make recert

my diving buddy I was planning on getting a tank form swears it’s illegal for a dive shop to fill a tank with air if they knew what I was doing with it and if I don’t have a diving license ? I all bull on all the tourists ppl who go diving for a day and don’t have licenses but I wasn’t gonna argue with him what’s the deal on scuba tanks any one know what kind of valves they’d need to get a dive shop to fill it ? I known guys that go get air for there shop tools there before I call bull on my buddy

Never heard of fiber aluminum tank. I think you meant to say carbon fiber tank. There are aluminum tank which are only 3000 psi and the carbon fiber tank which is 4500 psi. So if both tanks are the same size. Of course you gonna get more shots and fills from a carbon fiber tank. Most gun use only 1500 to 2000 psi to shoot so a 3000 psi tank is more than enough. But if you want more shots and fills, always get a carbon fiber tank. They are more expensive but will worth it.

Actually all of the carbon fiber tanks are aluminum with carbon fiber wrap...

I agree 4500 psi will pay for itself if your pcp are 3000 psi max, just about the only good thing about a 3000 psi tank is for a 2200 psi gun or tethered to your 3000 psi gun

It’s a 4500 Scba carbon fiber 45 min tank good with but it only has a fill plus open shut valve on the top I need to get the rest to be able to transfer it in the field and on the range I’m probably gonna replace the entire top tho is it’s not that much I’m just trying to get a a set up to last me till I upgrade in a few months

If you're talking about the link I sent you WHY would you replace the entire top of that tank? That's a standard CGA347 fitting. 99% of the SBCA valve in the USA use that fitting. Get a fill assembly and you can keep using it on each new tank when you get it.

This is the style fill assembly you need.
