Is a wood for end add a lot of weight?

Does a wood forend add weight to a 1720? I put wood grips on mine and they look great. but the black plastic grip doesn't look great..

I f you rest it don't worry,f you hold it and use both hands don't worry...use a light wood.

Depends on the wood used, size of the fore-end, and how you define "a lot".

You can also...hollow it. Remove the middle guts that aren't required for anything.

Many stocks are made that way.

I got a set of V Austin grips yesterday. to dress it up I think a wood forend would look nice. However I shoot it like a pistol so the forend isn't used. I thought I would ask this before ordering a forend. Today I found Vernon doesn't make forends. I made some for contenders years ago,, so I guess I can try again. The 1720 is real close to bothering my wrist now so I can't take much more front weight.
