❓ Is 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆opt HIDING the 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘅 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 of their scopes?

Is Discoveryopt HIDING the minimum parallax settings of their scopes?

For several years now I have been a fan of the Discovery scopes, now named Discoveryopt.
They have been very very open and detailed about all the specs of their scopes. (Unlike some US manufacturers who leave potential customers in the dark, especially about an item as important as minimum parallax. Leupold, Primary Arms, I'm talking to you!)

I really like it that Discoveryopt is coming out with better glass by starting their ED line.
However, as I was updating my Scope Specs Tables with their new scopes, I found a disturbing change:
The information on the minimum parallax setting of each of those scopes is MISSING.
Then I went to the HD line of scopes. And found the same LACK OF INFORMATION about the the minimum parallax...
• It is not found on the webpage.
• It is not found on the data card that is included with each scope.
• It is not found in the product photos.

Discoveryopt,*
• would you please respond
to this post and tell us all what the minimum parallax is on your ED and HD scopes? (All of your scope lines really would benefit from this....)
• And would you please again include that important information in your webpages and product data cards?
I will continue to help you by including your scopes in my Scope Specs Tables.

THANK YOU!! 😊

Sincerely,

Matthias, aka JungleShooter

How do I know if I am buying a Generation 1 or a Generation 2 scope?
Is this Gen. 1??

I have also been frustrated by manufacturers not clearly stating a parallax specification. Frankly, this practice seems either under-handed or idiotic (or both). I have caught myself examining the various product photo angles to try and get a glimpse of the parallax knob before reminding myself that one simply shouldn’t ever entertain doing business with a company that acts like that.

Yupp.
I do the same to assemble my Scope Specs Tables.
And I watch endless unboxing and review videos, in slo motion, to be able to read the parallax numbers on the turret.... 🤦

@JungleShooter This, my friend, is what I call dedication.

Dave, thanks for your words. 😊

"Dedication" — yeah. Then there are those who'd call this "stupid waste of time." 😄
Or "obsession." 😄

I usually just tune them out....

And have started expanding my Scope Specs Tables from $500 tops to $1500....

Cheers,
Matthias

Has Discovery still not provided you a response regarding the parallax specifications?

When I was shooting 100 M BR or 20-80 M silouettes I couldn't care for minimum paralax.
Until I retired earlier this year, closed my gunclub membership, and now primarely focusing for my prroperty damage protection = walnut trees in my backyard.
And my problems began finding a scope that can focus down below 10 M. I sold several of my medium value scopes because turned out those were useless for short distances, (of cource that I kept my high power long range snipers).
Somewhere deep in my locker I found one dinosurus aged 3-9 cheap scope that was sitting there for a decade or more... I could unscrew the front ring and moved the minimum paralax from 20M to give me a clean focus on ranges down to 5 to 10 M. After a dozen of dispatched squirreles I kind of started liking it.
Not sure this would be available from any brand off shelf
