Is it appropriate to post video of my family shooting airguns on targets only (not hunting)?

Good for you for including the girls in the fun Max. I feel like it should be ok to have them in your videos.
At the same time I can understand why your wife isn’t keen on it, because the internet is a very unpredictable place.
I can understand both sides of this story.
I sure enjoy your videos and I think the girls would be a nice addition!
Yes, I was very happy to have shared this day with them both and we had fun shooting and laughing together. I think my wife might change her mind after watching the video later.

How old are your girls ? Ask them for permission on every video , If they are teenage or close to it even the shirt they are wearing is important as there friends would see them .
Young adult and teenage. I had them dressed appropriately with jacket zipped up, lol. I did plan ahead and avoid any thing that might look inappropriate in my opinion.

Shooting is fun and competitive. Participation award people need not apply. Wholesome family fun and may someday save their lives. That’s why you teach a child to swim. Both one day may save their lives………
I agree 100%. I thought them how to handle firearms and the safety and danger with these "tools". I rather to have them exposed to firearm from me then from one of them dumb friends.

What the world thinks doesn't even matter. Make your own wise decisions. Listen to your wife and when one spouse does not approve don't do it! If you persuade her, fine. Your relationship with your wife is the most important thing to your family. The children and your desires come second.
Aren't you the one who promised you would honor her? Stick to your word. For better or worse. Bless your family!
Yup. Hence having the wife's permission is the right thing to do. Otherwise, I might be in the dog house. LOL.

I see no problem with videos of your girls shooting, learning to do so responsibly and having fun with it. In my part of the country it’s very common. There are places where viewers, if they even watch ‘gun’ videos will be horrorfide at the sight of children using a gun. We learned early, like age 7, to shoot Dads 22 and NEVER touch it if he wasn’t right there. So far none of us or the whole next generation has committed murder, robbed a convenience store or shot up a bar. If more kids see what you are doing with yours maybe some of the current insanity/stupidity will dial back a bit.

Alex,

I'm finding out over the years what a great guy you really are:
From sharing missed shots, stupid errors, to asking what's appropriate for your family, and making sure to get support from your wife first instead of playing the macho card. 👏🏼

My personal opinion is that the internet is an open space, a very open space, and anybody has access to it.
So, I feel that privacy is an important value and I try to protect this value to a point that seems reasonable. Now, if there are female minors involved, this seems to be even more important....
I'm thinking, your kids grow up, go the college, get a job, find a mate — would they like it that personal family memories are out there for the whole world to see?
(Maybe now they don't care, maybe some day they will, and maybe... — that fact that I'm even wondering about these things will date my birthday close to the middle of the last century 😆!)

Another thought: Do you have the opportunity to remove unwanted comments from your Youtube channel without much hassle?
Will their names be protected so this video won't come up if one searches for their name?

You're on a good track. More power to you! 👍🏼

Thanks Rick. Yes, I rather the kids learned from me than know nothing about gun safety at all.

Hi Matthias, thank you for your kind words. I watched many times over with this video and I didn't see anything that would post any negative values, but that was just my opinion. What matter is my wife's take on this one. Hopefully she will watch the video tomorrow after her jet lag and decide.

Either way, thank you all for chiming in with my question and I appreciate your comments, thoughts and opinion. Cheers.
