Is it appropriate to post video of my family shooting airguns on targets only (not hunting)?

As some of you already know that I have a Youtube channel: AirRiflePestings.

My question is, when and how do you know whether it is appropriate to include my kids (daughters) in my shooting videos. I don't take them out pesting, but only target shootings on paper and spinners.

I have asked a couple of friends about posting such video and I got two different comments. My wife didn't think it would be a good idea to have them exposed in the Internet shooting air guns. My kinda disagreed because I feel that having my girls learned the skill in target shooting and the safety of using a "firearm" is a positive thing. I teach them both the fundamental and the safety of operating air rifles. They learned quickly and gotten very skilled in shooting my Crown and Impact.

So, what would the general public think about this debate? Should I post or just keep the videos for ourselves?

Thanks.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If it's conducted in a safe manner, and is a teaching moment for you kids and others about gun safety.

My children are young adults. I have a youtube. If I was doing one when they were kids, they would have been included in my videos.

Thank you all for your comments. My kids are okay with it, but wife wasn't too keen on it before she went away for a trip back home. I will have her watch the video and decide whether I should/could post it online.

So fingers crossed that I get the green light to post for I think you guys might get some fun entertainment out of it. There were some funny clips at the end of our 50 yards spinners challenge between me and the girls.

Good for you for including the girls in the fun Max. I feel like it should be ok to have them in your videos.
At the same time I can understand why your wife isn’t keen on it, because the internet is a very unpredictable place.
I can understand both sides of this story.
I sure enjoy your videos and I think the girls would be a nice addition!

I like your approach of letting your wife view it and get her buy-in before posting it. While I see nothing wrong with the video showing your kids shooting airguns (in fact, I support it immensely), it is really more important to keep harmony in the family. This doesn't seem to be one of those major issues where firm stance and chest-beating is required. If you can achieve the holy grail of having your wife and kids all shoot and enjoy shooting with you, that would be awesome!

Too late for me!
My family shooting pics go back to when Facebook was new.

What the world thinks doesn't even matter. Make your own wise decisions. Listen to your wife and when one spouse does not approve don't do it! If you persuade her, fine. Your relationship with your wife is the most important thing to your family. The children and your desires come second.
Aren't you the one who promised you would honor her? Stick to your word. For better or worse. Bless your family!

Yes, Teamwork is the way.
We have our strengths and weaknesses, and like puzzle parts we compensate and complete one another.

My take on it is that the public opinion got so weird in the last decade ... kinda brainwashed ... can do dis and can't do dat got really tiring.
I have two grown up son's but still wife dictates what I can tell them around my table ... up to a certain level she is right but ...
Yup, I agree. Hard to please everyone sometimes.

This video definitely check off those things you mentioned. I did this video with the hopes that my children can look back at this someday and remember their old man. All in all, regardless I get to share it publicly or not, I have some memories captured in this video.

In this situation, ask the girls. And have everyone talk about it. Wife might still get pissed, but that's the correct way to handle it. I personally don't see an issue because it's relevant to your channel.
The girls are okay with it and I think my wife might change her view after watching the video when she returned from her trip tonight. Hopefully she will agree that this video post no negative issue.
