Is it Possible to Fix/Rebuild a Rover Mini?

I purchased a Rover Mini that burned up on the 3rd use while direct filling my Leshiy 2:

It started smoking with a strong burning smell and it stopped before I could shut it off. I allowed it to cool off and tried starting it again. It started and ran but would not build any pressure.

I am trying to figure out whether to toss it in the trash or whether it can be rebuilt. I did a search on the forum and all I could find were threads that other folks had issues with the compressor. Any guides or videos on how to rebuild the unit would be appreciated.

i had got a modair compressor in like 2016 it burned up 13 times everything from melting cord 4 switches , and about 8 sets of rings and 2 full piston assys , I finally gave it away and got me a airtex 4500 in like 2020 and I have never had 1 issue and my old one used to take 2 hrs to top a full size tank from 200 bar to 300 bar , the airetex 4500 fills same tank in 10 minutes , this was my story with a bad compressor all I did was waste endless time with phone and emails and trying to buy parts , and in end when you work on junk it is alwayts junk I had really tried making a water cooling system and I would pack ice bags around it when it ran to keep it cool , in end it should of been shot the day it arrived with a RPG and taken out , live and learn , and I wont ever cheap out on any hi pressure hoses or fittings , too much china junk around being cloned to look like authentic hoses or tanks and face it 300 bar can be extremely dangerous and we need to keep quality up to keep it safe and in long run good things last a long time and junk just keeps breaking , and some things just can not be fixed were it will stay running trouble free

Thanks for sharing your perspective and the information about the Airetex. I currently have a YH clone that is working without issue in the short term. The idea is to buy a better compressor once I am done researching the different options (Alkin, Bauer, Coltri, Carette, etc).

My son and I enjoy doing projects and repairs together so he asked if there is a way to repair the Rover Mini. Even if it is for the sake of stripping it down and seeing all of the components of the compressor that is fine. The satisfaction for him is to get it working again even if it is as a backup of for a short term.

If anyone has insight into whether these can be fixed and can provide any guides that would be appreciated.

I found a guide that works for the Rover Mini although it looks like it is branded as a Spritech (who is the OEM?). I used this Youtube video to take the Rover apart and I was able to confirm it is same:

Unfortunately once it was apart I was able to see that the wiring from the power supply to the board was badly melted and the blue and red wire were almost touching and bare in areas (it also melted the ziptie that was holding them together). I figure at this point it isn't worth the effort with the wiring issue on top of replacing the seals. Hopefully the link to the video will help someone else who is considering rebuilding one of these. I did find what I believe is the correct rebuild kit on Amazon:
