Is the beeman r9 /hw95 an all around springer?

HW95 in 22 caliber is my favorite springer. 177 is a good choice also but not as wind tolerant. I shoot Crosman Premier Hollow Points. $6 for 500 at Wally World. Can’t be beat. Incredibly accurate. Would not suggest to get the on 20 caliber train as pellets are expensive when you can even find them. Great caliber but companies are downsizing and 20 seams to be taking the hit.

I think and i prefer for hunting more magnum powered. Hw .22 kinda slow in todays market. Then u up the peliet weight and its slower.. not saying ots a bad gun but your looking for killing power . Shot placement aint a giveme in the field. My R9 .177 just like said above smooth as butyer pretty fead on open sights and all i shoot are cphp. Butttt... Im not hunting with it. Maybe birds or smaller then squirrel.maybe.

I perfer not to maime stuff so figure a rabbit and a gun thats hotting him at 800+ fps or one at maybe 700 in .22 and it flinches and your pellet placement is out the door .... So ill take my gamo syn stock lighter weight more power just as accurate out and lay the smack down. (Opinion). Oh also cost far less...

I have one of each. HW95 in .22 and an R9 in .20. Both great rifles and silly accurate. The .22 goes along with what Greenarrow said and likes H&N FTT 5.54 headsize pellets. First HW I ever bought, don't regret for even a second I did and like it so much I dropped more than a bit for an aftermarket laminated stock for it....lol. Ticks the boxes for what you want to shoot and mine has taken it's share of small pests in the 6 years I've owned it.
Normally, I'd say consider .20 caliber since it ticks all the boxes for what you want to shoot. My R9 .20 does and is an excellent target and pesting rifle, but as Bear mentioned, even though a great caliber, pellets are hard to come by right now and expensive when you can find them.
While, at least to me, it might be a caliber to consider for the future, I'd avoid it until pellet makers and the supply and retail chains can finally get back on track.

I just bought a 95 Luxus in .22 about 2 weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. I shot a 20 shot string yesterday and 15 of those shots were in a group you could cover with a quarter. Of the other 5, one was a flier that was my fault, 2 were I'm not 100% sure but probably me and not the gun ha ha, and 2 were about 3/16" high because I was playing around with the hold. And those 2 were touching each other. This is with the JSB Exact Jumbo pellets. It's a fairly heavy gun and shoots well off hand but you'll know it's there.

I have had good luck with two HW .22's an HW85 that I regret selling and presently an HW50, that is my go to killing gun.
I know several have not had good luck with HW .22's
I will probably get a 95 in .22 at some point, but no way you can go wrong with a .177
My R9 .177 shoots Baracuda FT's very well and they hit hard.
I too would stay away from .20 right now.

I enjoy my HW95L .22 rifle and my wife also likes to plink from our back deck. I put in an ARH kit with a Vortek seal due to a dieseling problem caused by the China Virus which was due to Weihrauch having to use inexperienced folks and they over oiled/greased the rifle at the factory. I can usually keep the groups inside 1" at 25 yards. 720 FPS using H&N FTT 14.66 gr 5.53 mm pellets, about 5K to 6K so far.

Right now i would buy a .20 ONLY if the dealer would supply 2 cases (10,000 rounds ) of .20 cal pellets at dealer cost no markup .
Looks like i will not have a .20
That’s what I asked when I got my HW90 .20 in Jan. I said I would buy if you have 5 tins. Got them. I did the same when I got the R9. There’s 10 tins. Last week I was scanning for rounds found 20 small tins of H+N’s. Just received yesterday. I’ll go through a sm. tin today. Crow

Hello friends of AGN.
As my post says, is the r9/hw95 an all around rifle?
If for you the answer is yes, in what caliber?

I want to buy one capable of dispatching pigeons, rabbits, quail and squirrels, and occasional field or silhouette target shooting.
I accept suggestions.

Thanks friends.
I like the R9 in .177 , very accurate.
If I want to shoot .22, I switch to my R1, the gun is designed for .22.
