FX Is the Crown Going Away?

Love the crown. Almost seems like FX wants them to go away being the superlight barrel system is terrible imo. At least crown enthusiasts should have the option of either barrel. I have owned and operated both barrel systems. The only thing Ive found positive in the SLB is you will have new friends to commiserate with after you buy one haha 😂 not trying to say people haven’t good experiences just the old barrel system was……..”SUPERIOR”.

Wow! That's a lot to digest.
Let's see, my Mk2 Crown has six barrels in 177, 22 and 25. I haven't shot the 25 much but all the rest are some of the most accurate I've ever shot. No poi problems, syn stocks are super comfy for me. I dunno, it just works, so well that I'd love to have another action. The Crown is easy to work on too.

As to it going away, dunno, everyone seems to get bored easily and want more, different, next gen, wow factor etc, so traditional may not hang with the plan. It's good that Daystate keeps the Regal so maybe the Crown stays. Who knows?

I loved the one crown I owned I had a .177 & .22 barrel for it and it was very accurate and overall just a fun gun to own.
I did buy a .30 King and replaced the GRS to a saber tactical stock which made it far better for shooting off a bench, and I love this gun extremely accurate and easy to tune for pellet weights and designs (I didn’t buy it for shooting slugs but always have that option!) basically I like everything about this gun even the gauges on side of block, easier to read when shooting from a rest.🤙

Maybe production will slow as demand does and seems to have but I doubt they will go away completely. I don’t think the wildcat/maverick platform will either. All these platforms offer much better modularity than the dynamic block guns. Sure there are many that is important too. For most average shooters the older platforms do plenty. Leopard looks and seems cool but it honestly offers nothing to me personally that my wildcat BT won’t do.

I used to have a bunch of Crowns. Now only 2 - 1 each in .22 and .25. Most of the other ones have been sold to local friends who I got into airgunning. After trying out a Crown, they just had to have one.

I was wondering whether to keep or sell the last 2 I have. They don't get pulled from the gun rack often enough. But when they do they never disappoint. And if there is even the potential of FX discontinuing them, I will definitely keep them. Would not want to be 'Crownless'.

Yes, some of the less flashy FX guns (or maybe ones which don't have as good of a margin when FX sells them...?) may be going away. I've noticed that it is nearly impossible to get a Dreamline Classic with any wood stock these days (other than a LH GRS). Thankfully the DL Classic synthetic stock is darned good (and actually much better for field work, IMHO). To me the DRS definitely doesn't replace the Dreamline Classic, but that may be the way things go in the market. Glad I grabbed another DL Classic in .22 a few months back when Utah Airguns was having a great sale on them, with free shipping. Maybe the start of closing them out??? I won't be selling any more DL Classics off either.

It is funny how some guns may not be "the best" at everything, or anything. But on the other hand you don't want to be without them either. They are just comfortable.
