Tuning Is the FX Impact m3 worth the extra money over the FX Dreamline ?

Thanks qball

I need to order the power plenum for the Dreamline, that should help some with the power and hopefully increase the range, I am not giving up on the m3.

Thank you

Tim

the little PP does indeed help with increase power. In .22 with superior liners I have no problem reaching well pass 100 yards with 23 grain slugs. Pellets do only ok at 100 yards unless there is no wind or 30 cal.

what caliber is the Dreamline you are getting? .22 and .177 come with light or 7 gram hammer so if you want to push slugs you need medium hammer weight or you can’t get reg to go higher than 120 bars. Very easy to get from FX and install in minutes.

qball makes a good point here with the PP and hammer weight. I have a .25 Dreamline and have not weighed my hammer yet!!! Silly me. PP made a big difference in consistency and shot count. Great under $30 investment. As I remember the PP is best used with a 600+mm barrel or other modifications will need to be made to the shroud and/or moderator style.

@2L8: I can almost bet you money it's the 11 gram or medium weight hammer which is goo to about 150 bars. 30 cal comes with the 13 gram or heavy hammer that's good to 170 bars if you got the amp regulator. The PP helps with power with any barrel length but definitely has more significant gains with longer barrel because the PP will keep the peak pressure longer so the projectile acceleration won't slow down through the long barrel.

The dreamline I have coming is a 22, I am sure the barrel is the 500mm length. I would love to be able to shoot slugs with it, past a 100 yards would be great? Sounds like I may have to order a superior liner for it to reach out past 100?

I appreciate everyone's advice on this, might save me some money and time to get it where I want it.

Thanks Tim

if you want to shoot slug mostly then get the heavy, if you want to shoot pellets too then get superior but keep in minds that the 23 grain is probably the heaviest slugs you can shoot well. also if you want to shoot slugs with 500mm barrel it’s a good idea to install the dual TP so you get better airflow needed to shoot slugs well but remember to flip to the pellet TP when you tune for pellets or you will drive yourself crazy. LOL!

PP = $40

TP = $30

HS weight = $12

Superior/heavy = &120

for a about $200 your dreamline will be able to sling slugs accurately past 100 yards. Have fun with the dreamline, it will surprise you in a good way.
