Why? Who are you to demand censure? It's in the General Discussion forum and is a legitimate subject.
He mad he wants to shoot his airgun but his wife wants to go to the beach instead lol. It's a discussion about the re sale value of the fx impact pcp, this forum is for airgun. So don't know why he got mad over discussion about airguns on a airgun forum.

I cannot see how anyone would consider buying an airgun (of any make or model) as an investment. Maybe if you planned on keeping it mint, never shooting it or even taking it out of the packaging. But even then, you'd need to know your product and whether it stood a chance at being a "classic" or "sought after" some day.
But if you're buying to try and then figure you're going to move it on after you've had your fun... it just reminds me of a friend's mother who kept buying cars and trading them in after a few months when she grew tired of the new ride, only to be puzzled as to why she was losing so much money that way.

M2 averages $1100 and up? Lol. I see a mk2 on classified going $1020 and another one going $1050 and both not selling for weeks now. So I find it hard they are worth $1100 and up. As for m3 they are falling in price too. There is a m3 going for $1300 and one going $1350 on classified. Price is dropping on the impact cause fx keep releasing newer versions. Now everyone wants the new m4 that is why older impact are losing value. I am worried in the future the mk1 and mk2 will be worth sht like under $500 resale value and m3 will be like $800 resale and m4 be like $1000. When the impact cost $2199. That is sad. With other guns manufacturers make 1 or 2 versions and that's it. So value stays up. While impacts they keep making so many versions older ones loose value over time.
You wouldn’t be saying all of this if you were in the market for a used MKll or M3. You would just be happy to finally be able to buy one used for what they are truly worth. I see this whole trend as a positive. The used everything market years ago became delusional, but knuckleheads paid the delusional prices for other people’s used but suffering no major loss crap. I’ve said this in every hobby I’ve ever been involved with. If you can’t handle a significant hit when you sell, you’re in over your head. Find a cheaper hobby.

"Heck I could spend far more money to sit on a beach in the tropics for a week then I did on my air rifle"

Would also be way more beneficial to my relationship than buying an airgun
Would also be way more beneficial to my current psychological state

More to life than airguns. More to airguns than resale value.

If you have relationship and psychological issues, why hate on others and demand censorship?

No this isn't a rant. No I am not frustrated. I made this thread cause I see a lot of impact that cost 2k plus and they are being for sale on classified for as low as $1020 to $1100 for days and weeks and no one is buying them. I am concern that when I decide to sell my impact, it will be worth sht in the future and I will have a hard time selling it like everyone is having a hard time selling impacts right now. The classified is full of impacts and they don't get sold cause the impact is resale value is sht. If I remember correctly people agreed on resale of used gun should be around 25-30% off retail price. So the impact should be selling for at least $1400-1500 in used. But that's not the case. They having hard time selling even at $1000.
Keep in mind when new models come out the old get dumped. New impacts were as low as $1500 too. That doesn't help resale. Why would I pay $14-1500 for used when new is $1500 and I can do what I want. Plus most anything used should be about 50% of retail. Some more some less.

No relationship issues, and I said "current state" , not issues. Recent events in our lives have affected both of us n ways we still dont understand, and a week at the beach (or the desert, or a decent hotel with a pool) would go along to providing some clarity and space for us to work thru these times.

Not hating on others, and if you knew me you'd know I hate censorship in any way shape or form. At the time of my original post in this thread, it was devolving into a discussion just repeating the same arguments.

Market forces are what they are, regardless of the product or service. People are gonna buy what they like and/or can afford. No amount of discussion will ever change that....

If I want to spend money close to the price of a new gun I’ll just buy a new one. In any market used items are going to be significantly less expensive. Nature of the beast. This is a hobby for most, myself included, and if I bought everything I now have at new prices I would triple my investment. If I can’t get what I want for it I’ll just keep it.

I haven't read all this, but I'll just add, there are no investments in a hobby. Don't buy it if you can't see it as money down the drain.
That’s pretty well said right there 🤷🏻‍♂️

I figure if I got enjoyment from buying something Hobby, sports car, luxury car , Airgunning, etc. then it’s worth the cost and the loss in value. It does suck.
But it’s hard to put a price on having fun, relaxing, LIVING.MEMORIES!
I’m out….

All my hobbies have what I refer to as my Fun Factor, this to me is the 'investment and return on investment' part of my hobbies.

If I do sell something on, it is always only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it at that point in time, and I will not see it as a loss.

I guess the buyers remorse thing happens more when people buy into hyped up, well marketed gear rather than good value for money gear.

Time to go outside and enjoy a few of those now worthless 'investments' I made...

Hobbies, including airguns, are NOT an investment. People don’t go into hobbies to make a profit like you do with an investment. They are a luxury item that is expected to depreciate in value. The real value in a hobby is the enjoyment you get out of it. Worrying about how much I’m going to lose when I sell my airgun kills the enjoyment.

There are valid points on both sides of the argument but some posts seem to insinuate blame on FX which is utterly hilarious. We get into any hobby because we enjoy it and you really cannot quantify that investment with $$ signs. Resale value is what it is and I personally don’t worry about it. Enjoy the hobby and if you want a new gun you have to take the loss if you must sell the old one. I mean there is always the choice of keeping them and enduring no loss🤷‍♂️
