Is the mk2 impact obsolete?

I’m out of my comfort zone here. As I have stipulated, I’m not an FX boy. Is there significant difference between the MK2 and the M3 impact? I’m concerned on strictly pellet shooting for live targets and some paper . I hear adjustments are a bit more involved with MK2. But it’s task is more set and forget. Not a bunch of adjustment shooting. Yes, I acquired an MK2 model. Thanks

The pest or small game animals you might go after would say its not obsolete… For practical airgun purposes why would it be obsolete?

Yep AEA introduced the Challenger Pro for 40% of the price.

Don’t forget when the M3 came out, guys that shot rmac and EBR used their mk2 over their new M3’s. There’s such small differences from one to the other, and you can almost make an M3 out of yours with the exception of dual regs and the quick change mini adjustment wheel.

My MK2 is a MK2.8, it has everything but the cocking block and fine adjustment wheel plus a “first reg delete” since I have high reg tune anyways.

For shooting pellets there is zero difference, granted it is nice to have the dual reg if your pellet tune has lower reg setting.

And yes, MADEINTHEUK’s comment is spot on. 68 Whiskey comes to mind. He won 2021 RMAC with an MK2 when the M3’s were already out, and this year went back with that same MK2

But the PRO weighs twice as much and certainly is not a pester. Loved mine but the weight was too much.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, most of the changes in the M3 are geared towards slug shooters. If you have an M2 and only shoot pellets then there really is no advantage to upgrade.

Just get a inline regulator !! I have a Altaros inline reg for my impact 2 ..Which is one of the last batch made before the M3
