Is there a updated fx liner twist rate chart to include the 800 mm lengths?

Utah airguns saying they don't sell the 800mm liners. Any idea were to get one of the 800mm 1/16 twist ?
They come stock in the 800mm tensioned barrels kits or at least they did? The liner twist rates have changed more times than I can count and are usually not published! So don’t ever believe what you are told until you see or measure it for yourself👍🏻 at least in the last 6 years when they started stx from Smooth twist.

Ya I just saw a post by Ken Hicks at spaw shooting the M3 .25 caliber 60 grain altaros slugs pretty accurately. Can you get better accuracy with the .22 caliber 40 grain altaros or the .25 caliber 50 grain altaros ? I'm gonna try and stick with the 1/14 twist .22 caliber 800mm for now. If I still can't get it to work well by the end of the summer I'm gonna probably either try the 1/16 800mm .22 caliber or just go down to 700mm with the same 1/16 twist. I have so many .22 caliber slugs from 30 to 40 grains. All my .25 caliber slugs are mostly 32 - 34 grains.
The .25 altaros 50 gr works well in 700mm in the slug gun. The .22 40 grain works well in my basically stock impact with the 800mm or in 700mm in my slug gun. At least thats the way I remember it. 🤔

This may sound weird but my .22 800 mm shot so well with the altaros that I got bored and it is basically why I decided to go to .25 And boy it took a long while for me to get the .25 to work. Probably because I started with the 60 gr first. The 50 gr was a lot less dramatic.

At what distance do you plan to shoot?

25 - 100 yards. I just made a little 94 yard range at my uncles house across the street today. I have been just shooting at 25 yards at my house. I can't wait to stretch it out. Oh man I wish you remembered that tune for the 40 grain altaros out of the 800mm 1/14 twist. I have the tungsten hammer and the slug kit and 720 power plenum too. They had it pre-built for a few months at utah airguns, they called it the slugger edition. Got so back ordered they had to take it down. Took over a year to get it. Do you remember the velocity you were shooting those 40 grain altaros feom the 800mm 1/14 ? I know they don't need to be as fast as most slugs. I will take boring bulls eyes any day ! Lol

Altaros are pricy for less than 100 yards. I would not go more than 910 fps with them. You are better off with the 38 grain NSA or the H&N 36 38 or 40 gr at 1020 to 1050 fps, if I remember correctly the problem I had with the tungsten hammer was getting it to hit light enough consistanly with the 800mm to shoot them slow. The tungsten hammer tends to be the most consistent above 160 - 170 bar. Hopefully in a couple weeks I can go out again. I have a fair amount of .22 40 and 32 (?) gr altaros that I've been meaning to shoot.

I will give them a shot with the tungsten hammer. They are definitely pricey though. If I can't get them to shoot accurately with the tungsten hammer I will try the NSA 38 grain - HN 40 grain - ZAN 40 grain - GRIFFIN 40 grain match & dish base hollow point & boat tail and any other 40 grain I am forgetting. I have been wanting to get a .22 caliber 40 grain slug flying accurately so I can show some of the guys at the local rifle range what these new air rifles can do. If you get out there with the altaros slugs let me know what your settings are. I am just having a hard time with the 2 different hammer spring settings along with the valve, I'm not to into tuning just shooting. Is there a strategy you use to tune the M3 ?

A lot of guys are doing away with the 1st reg when shooting heavy slugs with the m3. Fortunately I have the mk2 impact. But I do in a way have 2 regs as I tether with the reg at the bottle at 200-205 bar. My reg at the gun can be as low as 160 and go up to the very most 170. I try to keep the Altaros speeds between 890 and 910 fps.

I as well always shoot tethered, I keep the inline external regulator at 220 bar and my first regulator at 190 bar and my second regulator at about 150 bar. I was thinking about bypassing my first regulator as well. I might buy the Saber tactical first regulator bypass right now, it shouldn't harm the rifle at all seing I always shoot tethered with a external regulator. The plenum takes forever to fill and it screws with my rhythm. If I'm gonna shoot the 40 grain altaros I will have to keep my hammer spring really low or lower my regulator. My micro adjustments for the hammer spring seem to make a huge difference in velocity, I thought the micro adjustments were supposed to not make much of a difference. I can have my macro wheel maxed at #16 and turn my micro adjuster to #1 and I'm only getting about 650 fps. Then turning up the micro to just #3 and I'm shooting over 1,000 fps. It seems like no matter how low the macro wheel is at I can get over 1,000 fps. By just adjusting the micro to around #3. Do you have a tuning strategy for the M3 or recommend any specific videos on tuning instructions ?

For me at 150 bar and tungsten hammer is too heavy I believe your reg pressure is way too low and would be surprised if you get consistent speeds. It would be like trying to lightly tap a small nail with a 5 lb sledge hammer. That or get a lighter hammer so you can use the 150 bar.

Allen
So I should go up on the regulator and then less hammer spring tension ?

Yes, You will get better control over the heavy slug speeds but with the lighter weight stuff you will need to go with a 700mm or a lighter hammer.

Allen
What about the altaros 40 grain at 890 - 900 fps. Can I do that with the 800mm 1/14 twist and the tungsten hammer ? I was gonna try a higher regulator pressure with less hammer spring tension but if it's not gonna work I will just stick with the Javelin 40 grains and NSA 38 grain till I can take out the tungsten hammer. If I do. Need to take out the tungsten hammer for the altaros 40 grains could I still use the 800mm ?

It's been a while since I used the 40 altaros with the 800mm and I'm no longer sure if I used it with a stock impact or the ernest gun with the tungsten hammer and larger plenum. I believe the tungsten hammer and large plenum was introduced shortly after the 800mm was available. I think with the 800mm AND the heavy hammer, you may have a hard time keeping the speeds consistently slow enough to keep the Altaros stable. I know that the Altaros will shotgun all over the place if you go much over 925-930 fps with a 1-14 ~ 1-16 or slower twist. And when I mean shot gun you will be lucky to even hit paper so be very careful if there is not enough safe space around your target.
