Is there not an easier way to be "approved" to post in the classifieds?

I've got a couple Umarex Hammers I'm wanting to sell, but I can't post in the classifieds.
I knew the 10 post/10 day rule, but I was dumb and didn't realize it's QUALITY posts, which mine are most definitely not.

I'm not into airguns at all and have nothing to contribute to any conversations on here, but this is about the only place I can list these since they're 50 caliber (so not allowed on eBay).

It seems like for people who are just looking to sell some extra stuff, there isn't really an avenue to be able to post in the classifieds on here

I can understand your frustration. Long ago, I wanted to build a burning laser and joined a forum for the purpose of buying parts. These were REAL laser geeks and I had nothing to say or contribute, but there was a similar constraint on classifieds interaction so I had to improvise. I asked questions regarding WHY they were obsessed with lasers and so forth and that naturally generated some discussion. So even if you dont really have an interest or knowledge to share, consider it a social experiment where you might ask ...why... are folks interested in airguns, how they got into them, etc and I would surmise your 'quality' post count would go up in short order. Granted, 'quality' is subjective, but I would venture a guess that anything that generates thoughtful discussion would count. Good luck! It's a bit of a hassle, but this site is the safest and most active out there!

You could tell a story about HOW you came to own not just 1 but 2(!) .50 caliber airguns. That will get you a lot more street cred than posting a
" . " in 10 different threads. You need to see it from the membership's point of view. An unknown dude shows up with 2 high end, high powered guns that he wants to dump and run away from. Really? Not suspicious at all ?

What was said above and …. Not only that but it takes a trust among members. I’ve bought many things off here. Through a friend as my buyer ( because of his reputation, payment and shipping help me. ) It takes more than a good deal in the classified section to spend 1k+. ALOT of trust. Hard to get that from 1 classified ad. As a buyer they will do their research before spending. Little interaction can go along way. Might even find something that interest you more. I thought I’d like a big bore. But low shot count and always filling not it for me.

I don't disagree (especially in regards to my "." comments haha.
Like I said, I didn't catch the part about quality posts), but also, couldn't anyone posting in the classifieds for the first few times be looked at through the lense? Are people just automatically suspicious if a good deal is posted? For all anyone knows, anyone occasionally selling 1 or 2 items in the classifieds stole them from a local shop and is trying to dump and run.

For clarification: I got these from airgun pallets I buy. I'll buy pallets of 10-15, keep the ones I want just for plinking around, and sell the others. These were on 2 separate pallets but they're way too big for just plinking around, so away they go

Yeah I understand that, you're not wrong. Im just used to places like PBnation (paintball) where I think you only need 3 or 5 posts (it's been forever, I can't remember for sure), then you're all good to post in the classifieds. People primarily use PayPal, so people aren't generally worried about scams. Pay and get ghosted and no item? File a claim and get your money back.

Getting your money back takes a lot longer than awaiting AGN approval to list in the classifieds

just 2 cents plain

I understand the concept of trying to weed out scammers, but at what point is it up to everyone to use critical thinking and exercise good decision making?....

You mean like taking personal ownership of your membership responsibility? You had to read and agree to follow some very basic rules when you signed up for AGN.

You need to decide for yourself if having the privilege of making posts here is a worthy exchange for following the rule.

It is highly self-centered to join a group and demand that the group bends to YOUR WILL and Preference.

I am also restricted by these rules for now, and I believe they are good ones. I think it’s the best way to encourage people to speak up and get into the habit of interaction. I’ve seen dead forums, they’re sad! This is a nice way to jumpstart activity with new members. It also benefits the website, which I assume runs on ad revenue. Higher interactions, more ad views, more money to keep forum online.
