Is This a Design Flaw,Or Something Missing?

Really like this Huggett Fx Impact Full Length Shroud But On Every Shot There Is a

Hugh Blow Back Of Air At The Back End Of The Shroud. Any Ideas?

Does it have an o-ring seal at the back like the stock shroud? Is that cut to clamp on? It doesn’t thread to the barrel nut? Confused on how it attaches. Does it have an internal air stripper like the stock shroud?

Yes for the air stripper with an o-ring, the shroud is attach at the rear by clamping but no o-ring at the rear.

Also the rear end have a cut in it. Absolutely no o-ring at the rear.

hey i have no idea but why would they cut the clamping area after the part was coated black, that makes no sense

are you the original owner

so teflon tape on the threads and a spacer for the the clamping area, logic says lots of air there is wrong but as i said, i have no idea

Yes I bought it brand new a few days ago, those are my thoughts also there are no air sealing at the rear and the is where the air is

rushing out from. The original Fx full lenght have no such problem because there is an o-ring.You can see here.

Without a seal it is going to vent from the back rush of air coming out of the air stripper. However, lots of shrouds have vents by design to help lower the air pressure. This reduces turbulence a small amount helping the air stripper do its job. Perhaps the shroud was meant to be installed so the air isn't directed at you. Can you index it so the vent isn't annoying?

I have full length Huggett shrouds on couple of my Daystate Airwolfs and on a HW100 and there are vents on both the front silencers and rear near the breech. Also have Earnest Rowe and Charlie Frear guns with vent holes added on both ends of OEM shrouds as well. YO!

There are no problems with the front end there are slots up there, its at the rear

where there is only that long slot where the air comes out quite hard.

With the Fx factory shroud there is nothing like this at all in fact no blow back at all.

I would definitely find a way to seal that leak. Anyone who has taken a LDC or shroud off knows all the graphite and fine lead dust that's in there. You don't want to breath in any of that stuff!

There shouldn't be much lead dust back at the rear where it vents but you still don't want it aimed at you. I still haven't heard the answer if the shroud can be rotated to avoid that. I have a few shrouds with vent holes facing down at the bottle or tube. One could also tape some felt over the slot to catch what little lead might migrate there.
