Is this a new Tuxing compressor?

Tuxing has had twin cylinder compressors for quite a while now. I was given one, almost a couple years ago (TX OED32 I think). At the time I got it, it was already 7 yrs old. Worked great for about 6 months before it died. STRONG & FAST! Instead of rebuilding I bought a Yong Heng.
Can't go wrong with the yong heng. My dad has had his for 4 years now and it's still going strong.

As I understand, this platform utilizes separate high and low pressure pistons instead of combining as the Yong Heng. Different, but not necessarily better, more moving parts, and all. Might understand if Yong Hengs were failing because of single piston design, but that doesn't appear to be the case. If wanting a more complicated platform and having the extra cash to purchase, I'd say have at it, should do the job. WM

Without a doubt the Yong Heng has a strong following on this forum. The main problem I read about is trying to keep it cool. I decided to go with the Tuxing because they run much cooler without having to go to extremes. Since I only use mine to top off my SCBA, it only runs for 11 minutes and doesn’t get above 130 degrees. Time will tell, but if you use the proper oil and watch your temps, I don’t see why you can’t get good service out of the Tuxing.

Agree, strong YH following here. For me, hand pumps were a "flash in the pan," and big dollar compressors weren't even in the picture, thank goodness Biohazardman showed the light. Three and a half years and my $272 investment is still going strong. Power to manage moisture control devices, inexpensive, readily available repair parts and great "how-to" videos round out the package. Ice bottles for water cooling, external fan and high-flashpoint crankcase oil are all items used to moderate temps but don't see any as burdensome. Can't say one way, or another, regarding Tuxing, no personal experience, wish only best for owners. WM
