Is this Normal?

I shot my HW100BP-K today for the first time in two months and the accuracy was horrible. I'm talking 1" to 2" groups at 48 yards with it's favorite Polymag Shorts, JSB 8.44s, and CPUM 10.5s in that order. The 12.5g NSAs shot a bit better, but nothing like they usually do. I was shooting from a bench in my garage out to 48 yards with no wind. I figured maybe the barrel needed cleaning so I tried the straw trick, but couldn't get the pull through into the muzzle. I removed the moderator and out of curiosity I removed the "curlers" and found them very dirty. I DO NOT LUBE MY PELLETS, but I DO CLEAN them. As for the NSAs, I've only shot about 100 out of this gun. The barrel was last cleaned over the summer and maybe 200 pellets and the NSAs have gone down it since. Since purchasing the gun new, I've shot about 2,000 pellets and 100 slugs. Is it normal for the "LDC" to have so much dirt in it? I'm also posting a pic of the thread for the muzzle cap of the Weihrauch moderator, because I can't believe they would let it leave the factory like this. It looks as if it was cross threaded, removed, and then reinstalled correctly.

On a side note, I shot it in the garage without the mod and man was it loud! My ear is still ringing. That mod really does it's job!

Our slugs are cleaned in a sonic cleaner after being made and then dried. After drying they are tumbled with silicone lubricant and should need no further cleaning or lube on them. Barrels will need more frequent cleaning in comparison to pellets which seldom require cleaning. A barrel just starting out shooting slugs I clean every 50 rounds, then 100 and then about 200 or so or when accuracy falls off.

Yes, that looks to be normal build up in the moderator from what I have seen. I found, after my barrel was broke in, I only need to clean it every 600 rounds or so these days when shooting the NSA slugs. Probly less often with pellets but I don't like all of the sorting to get the accuracy so seldom shoot them anymore.

Bummer bout the threads that's really ugly. ;^(

I make my own NSA Type Slugs to shoot out of one of my IMPACTS lubed with release agent and LEMON PLEDGE.kStill going great never cleaned barrel yet since but only shoot NSA TYPE slugs I make myself with Corbin Dies. It's in between NSA so that's why I make my own to shoot past 200 yards with for better accuracy. I would use NSA if shooting 150 yards and under though.

Been shooting NSA slugs and always found them to be super clean and slippery to touch! I haven’t cleaned any of my FX barrels in months!!! But FX and polygon barrels have distinct advantage on that part. If I clean my FX barrels I have to “reseason” them so why bother.

Edit: come to think of it I haven’t cleaned my LW 12 lands nor snow peak barrels either and they are all shooting great. Hhummmm.......did I just get lucky?

Just couldn't duplicate Air Hunters SA consistent 200+ yard shots figured they Must have made their own Slugs since they use the H and Hem dies too like Matt Dubber does and I expect the same results from my Impact Just like on YouTube which seemed impossible without making your own perfect ammo unless you really lucky the barrel likes the certain weight commercially sold slugs and can consistently hit past 200 yards.

I shot more than 5000 threw my donny fl sumo and took it apart for the first time the other day wow it was filthy i washed everything in dawn dish washing liquid and hot water it took it about 3 days to dry the felt stuff and put back together i was having accuracy issues that wasnt the problem after scrubbing thebarrel with barastol until spotless still nothing wire brush sown the barrel and back to normal 3/8" group 35 yards ( dream tac compact )

I'm not sure what's normal, but I have about 500 shots through my HW100 .177, and the innards of it are still white as cotton. I shoot only pellets, lightly lubed with WD-40 silicone spray. The threads on that cap are interesting. Is it possible that stuff is some locking compound? The front cap on mine was very tight, and the rear is on, can't get it off, but really no need with the front removable.

Well, I found the culprit to the bad groups. I had knocked the gun off the bench two months ago and the scope is trashed. I installed another scope and all is well. I never thought about the scope because the gun landed on the butt end, and the scope never came in contact with anything. I guess a $120 scope is not that durable. 👦

You need to chase the threads otherwise you will ruin the threads on the LDC body. Use anti sieze. Never any silicone on threads unless you looking for a good RED LOCKTITE alternative.

I thought about chasing the threads but my neighbor, who owns every tool known to man, is installing a car lift in his garage and all his tools and machinery are in storage. The cost of buying a metric die that size would be almost twice what it would cost to purchase a new Weihrauch mod.

It will have to wait.
