Is Your Spouse/Partner involved in the hobby?

My wife has a concealed carry license and is at least as accurate a shot as I. She shoots my HW44 very well, sometimes besting me.

I got both of my stepsons into trap shooting years ago, and my wife would come with me when I was shooting at competitions, then one day she said she wanted to try trap shooting so I bought a trap gun and then had it fitted to her, she still likes to do that with me but is now wanting to try the air guns, I think I will be getting her an air gun in the near future! She also enjoys pistol shooting.

I have tried to get my wife to shot PB benchrest with me for years. No interest. She has all the personality traits.....good memory, anal, perfectionist.......that are valuable to do well in benchrest. She enjoys baking and sewing, keeping busy. When I got my Diana 54, no recoil she would shoot it at air gun silhouettes on occasion. Then I bought a Diana 75 and talked her into trying it. She shot a couple shots, looked at me and said, "You need one of these for you". Then I talked her into shooting a match. She won. Now most days she shoots with me each morning for about two hours. Its great, I did find a second 75, lol, since I lost the first one.

My wife generally has no interest, but when she occasionally shoots one of my firearms, she is a much better shot than me.

I find it interesting that more than a few have to seek approval / permission from their wife / partner if they want to purchase something. That has never been part of our relationship. If we want something, we just buy it, and that includes big ticket items.
