Iso46 aw Hydraulic oil in YH Air Compressor?

"A quart should last the life of a YH-type pump."

If you only change it frequently enough to need 1 quart then you deserve the life span you get.before something unrelated to

My oil company claims that it is good for 2000 hour change intervals. I will be tickled pink if I can get 50 hours before something that has nothing to do with lubrication needs attention. Perhaps I'll change the oil then or if it's something like a burnt-out motor I'll junk it and get another. The biggest and most damaging mistake that people make with oil is overfilling or not running the machine on a dead level surface. That's how oil gets to places where it can cause detonation and carbon deposits. By the way, mine's going on to 4 years old, and the oil that's been in it since after its initial run-in period is still as clear as the day it went in. As you know, I don't use ice and I only use the pump for filling or topping off 6.8-litre bottles. I also never run it for less than fifteen minutes at a time and I always drain the coolant while the water jacket is still hot before storing it for any period of time. I have sound reasons for adhering to these procedures and so far it has worked just fine.

It's not the potential lifespan of the lube that is in question. It is the debris that gets into the lube from wear. Users can certainly do as they please but I use a quality HPA compressor lube and change it much more frequently than you suggest to remove any such debris buildup. Gives me added peace of mind on a unit well over 2 years old now. Glad yours is working so well and that is a testament to the potential of the Yong Heng compressor.

Redick, Yong Heng owners manuals provide minimal information and they don't translate to English properly. The newer owners manuals no longer recommend #46 hydraulic fluid. DON"T use it unless you like stinking burning smell, premature carbon buildup in your check valves, and premature parts failures.

Lately, Yong Heng manuals have gone to the opposite extreme and recommend ridiculously overpriced Mobil Rarus 827 oil. A $300 compressor doesn't need $60 a quart oil to function. There are many brands of high quality synthetic non detergent compressor oils if you do a minimal online search. I recommend Fitlertechs.com for their compressor oil varieties and competitive prices. Other users have had success using Royal Purple Synfilm 100. Stay away from motor oil as it contains detergent additives that will build up deposits and ruin your compressor. Most synthetic high pressure compressor oils run from $15-20 a quart. Stay away from compressor oils made for small shop compressors. 125 psi compressor oils aren't made to withstand the heat and leave deposits which ruin the seals in Yong Heng type compressors.
