Shot out a horse farm last year of their ground squirrels. Got a text from the owner stating that they were back. She asked if I could come over. What a great feeling. Well she was right. Inside the coral is a mound where there were about four milling about when I drove up. I got situated and took the four there. Along the fence adjacent to a pasture there were tons more. I got about 16. But when I went to collect the bodies, they were all gone. Some were DRT I watched through my scope. Now I know there are many more. Was a great two hours of shooting but the invitation made it all the more enjoyable.

Nice shooting. The invite says a lot about how much you've done for the rancher and the impact it's made on the squirrels.

yes they will eat their own when dead. it is also a defense to drag the dead ones down the hole not to attract predators.

Yes they’re cannibals. Found out last year when I witnessed one I shot getting dragged into a hole by another squirrel. I just meant that I have a lot more shooting to do.

The ones I’ve shot in Eastern Oregon(The Dalles) do the same thing. Like the members before have said, they’re omnivorous.
