I've been out of the airgun world for a few years

And coming back in is even more exciting than it's ever been...just, WOW! I got in this game with Spring Guns about two years before Benjamin set the world on its ear with the First Gen Marauder at an affordable, everyman price point. I still have my Gen I Marauder and it's still a tackdriver...but, I spent a lot of time with it tuning, installing an LW barrel, custom, laminated stock...but it still puts 50 shots per fill at an average of 930fps....

But I see they have regulators for them now that anyone that can change their own oil can do...exciting. I see guns like the Umarex Gauntlet at $300 price point...shot one a couple of weeks ago...unbeleivable...I picked up a Gamo (never been a fan) Urban a couple of years ago from a buddy for the wife, finally cut the original can off of it and put a full shroud on it. I did some tuning and it's an extremely viable rifle...squirrel killing machine...now we have semi auto Mrods, a hoard of companies building high quality airguns...just incredible to me.

The Big Bore world has matured from an extreme Niche market, with only Quackenbush and Jack Haley (RIP) building a few one-off guns each year, to mainstream gun manufacturers making guns more and more powerful....and easily in the medium to big game hunting world. I dipped my foot in the big bore world a year or so ago with a Gamo/Winchester/Evanix 70-45. Not the fastest gun on the market, but dependable and accurate...I killed a couple of deer and a few coyotes with it after testing the heck out of it with different bullets....1.5 MOA accuracy at 100 yards...fantastic.

Our world has sure come a LONG way in the last 10-12 years. For you guys that have only been in the game for a few years...enjoy this period....It's a great time to have an expensive hobby!

Hey! Squirrel Team 6 is back in business!!

Welcome back Jamie.

Believe it or not, I still have the Gen 1 Marauder that Greg built for me and it is still mounted in the AI AW stock. Still have the remaining 2 stock blanks left also.

Still have the PCP's but am lovin' shooting the piston guns even more.

Shoot me an email if you would. Would love to catch up with you on everything.

I was first into airguns when the theoben rapid 7 set a fire under the pcp markets arse. I had just sold my Diana 38 (shouldn't have done that) to buy a Falcon FN12, which was a very nice gun.

I came back after a 20 year hiatus with a Gamo wildcat whisper, which I ended up hating. I almost immediately after bought a Hatsan BT65SB and then spent the next year and some messing with it to get the power accuracy sorted out.

I'm fairly happy with the hatsan now but I'd like more shots per fill. I have an idea to make a big bottle adaptor but just don't have the time to even try startng it right now.

Air rifles are just amazing right now!

Wow, our airgun layoff stories are very similar.

My first PcP was a Gen1 Marauder in .25 cal. It would group fine but if you set it down for an hour or so, it would still group, but it was anyone's guess on where the POI would be lol.

I sold it, stuck with my trusty 1988 T01 RWS-48 .22.

I'm back now with an AA S510XS in the Walnut Carbine model. It groups, at the same POI EVERYTIME!!

Anyway, welcome back!!
