JD's Custom Designs- magnetic scope wheel kit

Ordered one of the magnetic wheel kits in aluminum from Joe a while back, & received it about two weeks ago. The hub fit perfectly on my Athlon Heras, & the extra real estate on the nautilus wheel helps spread out those 45-55 yard markings compared to the 5" round wheel I had previously. And it allows access to the illumination knob.

Finished my holdover dope & initial ranging dope last week, & double & triple checked this week, finishing yesterday (at least for "hot weather" settings). Out of the blue last night, Joe sent me a text to see if the wheel is working out for me. Now here's a guy who cares about his customers!

Really nice to be able to remove the wheel for casing the rifle or when not needed for ranging, & have zero changes to your markings when you pop it back in place. The pointer & bubble level that come with the kit also work well.

I've been using Joe's products for the last couple of years. Always innovating. I think this is his 4th generation of wheel.

The beauty of this design is you can try any of his wheels to determine what design best suites your particular scope without having to re-range each wheel. He accomplishes this by making each wheel have the same location lugs as the hub so no matter what wheel you are using the hub will locate all his wheels at the same point.

This is what I did:
I wanted to know which wheel offered the greatest spacing in the distances I was challenged in determining accurate ranging, which can be for some typically 10-17 yards and 37-50 yards. I carefully ranged and marked wheel #1 from 10 to 55 yards. Starting at my 10 yard mark on wheel #1, I installed the next wheel, wheel #2 and marked it at 10 yards. Removed wheel #2, put the wheel #1 back on, rotated it to the 11 yard mark. Reinstalled wheel #2 and marked it. And did this through the entire range of rotation of wheel #1. This allowed me an easy visual comparison of the range marks of both wheels.

This may sound tedious and time consuming but it took less than five minutes. And I'm sure for some a bit of overkill but know he makes the wheels not for "cool factor" but to allow maximum yardage spacing for different brands of scopes and this is due to the fact different brands and models of scopes have different degrees of rotation from 10-55 yards. Ask any savvy, experienced FT shooter who has tried a myriad of scopes and they will tell you not all scopes and darn few, range the same.

This is how Joe's scope wheels can help you achieve the fine tuning ranging performance of your particular scope to maximize its potential.
So when you order, tell him what extra wheels you want to try because you only need the extra wheel(s) and not extra hubs. This will help keep your cost down.

JD made me a custom wheel for my Kahles FT scope and it is working great even at 16x. He kept in touch with his progress on the wheel and had it to my door within 4 weeks. He takes great pride in work! There are only a few people in this day and age that do that!
Order with confidence from JD!

Hadn't thought of that angle, good point!

Another possibility- multiple wheels for different temperatures.
