Jefferson State Air Rifles any good ?

Hi, i am new in this forum. I am not en expert when it comes to Airguns. Had some AIR rifles in the past (Evanix sniper cal 35, AEA Terminator cal 35, Hatsan bullbos 25) but sold whole collection some years ago due to financial issues. I now have the change to pick-up my old hobby again and would like to buy a good quality and powerful AIR rifle.
I live in Europe and by coincidence come across a brand i had never heard of.. Jefferson State Air Rifles. I could find only 1 single dealer selling these in the whole of Europe.
So i am wondering if anybody has experience whith this brand ? I am tempted to buy the Raptor in cal 30 or 35.
Is anybody able to give me advise to go for it or not ? My other choice is FX Dynamic but the latter is a whole lot more expensive....

The Raptor is made here in the US by a small shop run by a machinist. Early on, they had some issues, but those have pretty much been ironed out. For you being overseas, my main concern would be the availability of parts if needed. You may want to check witht he vendor offering the Raptor and see if they have spare parts on hand or if they can easily get them if needed. Here is a link to their US webpage:

FX has a much broader support network and the benefit of a broad base of aftermarket parts as well. A lot has to do with what your budget will bear. There are FX airguns that are around the same price as the Raptor (i.e. Maverick), if parts and service of the Raptor is a problem where you are.

Thanks for the advise. You are right, aftermarket parts could be an issue. I am sure that JSAR customer service in the US is allright but it could be an issue here in Europe. Hmmm, perhaps i should go for the FX Maverick after all. It could save me trouble later on.

Being in Europe why not consider something in the BRK Brocock lineup? They are based in your part of the world and they make awesome PCPs… Their top of the line Ghost XR can be had in .30 caliber, changes to other calibers are easy to do…

Exactly what FLgunner said above! I have an early, 3rd Raptor built and it went thru some issues but were taken care of asap by them. Matt the machinist is back and is the owner now., great guy!

There are only a couple of O-rings all standard and the regulator that, to my knowledge, isn't user serviceable, but the thing is build like a tank. I did have a regulator issue straight away but Matthew took care of it, you my have a problem in the EU, so check with the vendor. You can get a ton of power out of it but in .25 it really loves the AEA 33.9's. It's not unhappy with the JSB 33.93's. If you're thinking slugs well, have fun, I haven't quite found the combination for them. Tuning it is pretty straight forward. It is a one pellet gun, once tuned that's it.

Having worked AT the JSAR factory pre covid, yes a fairly straight forward design utilizing some unique valve tech and tuning regiments.
There sorta fugly looking rigs, but once tuned for a specific projectile pellet / slug they are excellent shooters !!!

Still have mine & currently set up an a High Power slugger .... 38-40 fpe in .177 caliber ! Crazy accurate and so flat shooting too.
