Joe Garland @ jdscustomdesign.com raises the bar again in FT wheels

Never being satisfied with status quo of performance parallax wheels for field target, Joe Garland at www.jdscustomdesign.com has raised the bar with his new, Gen 3 “Clamp & Go” attachment system.

This newly designed, revolutionary system now allows you to move your parallax wheel from scope to scope without having to purchase a new hub for that particular scope. This is a huge benefit for those shooters who may use more than one scope and doesn’t require them to make multiple range markings for each rig.

Benefits:

A single attachment hub fits scope parallax turrets from 25-41mm

No more set screw marks on the parallax turret.

Easy alignment so wheel tracks true in rotation (no side roll out)

Now available in a light weight design

Magnetic keyed locking system. Can easily remove the wheel without changing your yardage location.

Illuminated reticle compatible.

New material (PETG) has a higher temperature rating of 185 degrees rating over the older PLA+ material of 150. Ideal for those that live in hotter climates and store their guns in an non temperature controlled environment.

Joe tells me this new design has been in the design stages for some time and he has finally pulled the trigger on it. It will be replacing his current Gen 2 hub system but will not change any of the outer wheel designs. As a matter of fact, in addition to the Gen 3 hub system, he has added a new line of wheel he is calling his “Speed Wheel”. This wheel is intended for shooters who don’t need a large wheel and is highly suited for the shooters participating in the rapidly growing Xtreme Field Target. For those that may not be familiar with XFT, you don’t have to range your target with the more traditional FT parallax wheel, you can use a range finder to know your yardage.
One of the benefits to the Speed Wheel in XFT as well as hunting and everyday shooting is its width. The wheel is wide so you easily grasp the outer diameter easily and if you want to, you can add yardage tape to help you approximate the distances.

As with all of his wheels, there is a rainbow of colors at no extra charge to choose from as well as having a custom image put in the center of the wheel for a for a very reasonable price.
Joe is taking orders now for the Gen 3 hub system and his printing queue is filling up fast so don’t wait till the last minute. Joe also tells me he is offering the remaining older Gen 2 inventory at a greatly reduced price. But when it’s gone, so is the great deal.

I’ll be doing a video next week demonstrating the really cool features and how to install both the XFT and AAFTA FT wheels and benefit from this design.

Here are some pics of his new Gen3 Speed Wheel he made for my Riton scope I use for prairie dog hunts and will be using for XFT as well.

New inner hub design. Note the internal split ring. This allows the set screws (not shown) to be tightened to fit the different parallax turret diameters.

I ordered one of the 9" nautilus wheels from Joe. I sent him an email and he called me Monday to take my order and ask me specifics. If you haven't talked with him, he is a super nice guy. Offering to help in any way he can. Dave Cole may have mentioned this but If he did I missed it. With this wheel and hub, say you changed scopes or wanted to put your wheel on another rifle. All you have to do is buy another hub for ten bucks then use the keyed magnetic wheel. Sounds like a smart set up for sure. I am glad I gave him a call. I am excited for this to arrive.

thanks Dave!
