Joe showed up for the Oregon state FT / GP earlier this spring. After saturday it became an awareness it was "That Joe" and come Sunday he was a no show and those of us newer to the game simply never got to connect the dots and make a introduction or if or not how active he is any longer ?????
I am REALLY new to Field Target. Last summer I finally had the opportunity to shoot my first outdoor match at Clark Rifles and I was squaded with Joe. I could tell he had been in the airgun world for a long time from our conversations. It wasn't until later that I realized WHO I had been shooting with. He's been at a few of the matches this summer, most recently I saw him at Clark Rifles in August. I don't think he's hitting the matches like he used to.

What state & @ locality ?

Joe's in Vancouver, Washington. I've seen him at the Clark Rifles matches in Brush Prarie. I also saw him when we were at Tacoma Rifle and Revolver.
I was at the same hotel as Joe for the Ashland match in July. I hung out with him Saturday night and he said his back was killing him(or maybe knee?) and I think the heat was a bit hard on him.

Heat was BRUTAL !!! .... Wish that the acknowledgement & making the connection had been different.

For sure, maybe your paths will cross again.
Yes, that heat was something. I started both days on lane 6, so I had to finish the last 5 lanes under high noon sun. Punishing. But, it sure separated folks by performance under the conditions. Being my first GP, I was really happy where I finished.
Making the Ashland GP end of the month ? Same location.

I was able to get a hold of Joe. His email on his website works. It did not work for whatever reason back a few months ago when I was trying it. I tried again for the heck of it earlier today and he emailed me back a couple hours later. He is still in the custom air rifle and regulator business.
