JSAR Raptor barrel options

So I’ve become interested in NLR22 a bit lately.. and that has me thinking my Raptor mini would be a good candidate to set up for that kind of shooting.

Only issue is the 25 cal barrel i ordered it with has never really impressed me in the accuracy department and doesn’t like slugs which is what I’d want to be slinging from this one.

As I naturally do , this got me thinking and so I go pull the barrel to see just how they are fitted in these rifles and to my surprise there aren’t any O-rings on the barrel where it slides in the breach to seal the transfer port like almost every other gun I’ve owned has had.
Can’t help but wonder if this is normal and just how does it not allow air to escape during the shot cycle 🤔

That was my 1st question, just curious about the lack of Orings??

Now to the main reason for my post is that I’d like to convert over to 22 cal and JSARs caliber change kit at $425 seems a little steep to me. Especially if it doesn’t perform that well either..
Ideally I’d like to find a way to be able to run FX barrel liners due to the interchangeability and performance.
Not sure if anyone else has done something similar or would have other recommendations on swapping barrels on the raptors. Opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Why convert to .22? You can use up to .35cal for nrl22 anyways for nrl.. why would you want to put a flimsy soda straw fx liner on it? Makes no sense, the tj barrels that the jsars comes with are far superior and you can’t beat the tensioning system on the raptors, my two 30 cal raptors are spot on everytime even when you bump it around, never a point of impact shift, try that with a fx barrel 😀

A barrel blank from TJ will cost you about $100 , now go find someone to machine it to fit your Jsar, probably cost very similar.

Last time I saw a pricing sheet from TJ, IIRC it was about $6.20 per inch making a 22" blank @ $140 + machine to fit costs, which likely would be $150+ if outsourcing to a machine shop that would / could do it correctly.
If needing a different length shroud or wanting an even longer than OEM length ? add more $$$
