JSB 18.13 gr 22.CAL

I recently switched to the JSB 18.13 for squirrel hunting as I found many of my shots were beyond 40 yards. I had been using the H&N Terminators 16.36 which are a semi- hollow point pellet. They cut nice a hole in the squirrels and kill well but I know their accuracy fall off after forty yards. In my TalonSS .22 cal I am only shooting the JSB's at about 730 fps but they are very accurate at further distances than the Terminators. Here is the only squirrel I shot so far with the JSB's but note the pop the shot makes when hitting the squirrel. Also without being a hp it does tend to pencil on through game doing less damage than hollow points. I of course would like to take head shots on squirrels but that does not happen all the time.

"iride"I am shooting up all my JSB .22 pellets and going to hollow points ,
Why? Because I also shoot with 25 cal pellets and I need more pow.
I am shooting 22 and 25 Cal Crickets , 25 in JSB 25.39gr.
I am shooting 35 to 48 yards and with the 22 its like , Did I hit the sparrow , or the Euro dove takes flight.
With the 25 , No question pop, Its a hit, just the sound tells me,
Looking for a 22 hollow point that will give me the pop.
But first I have a lot of 22 JSB pellets I have to go through to start buying the hollow point pellet to sight in for the POP.
But I got the feelers out there looking,
Oh yes I hear the polymag people, screaming, LOL.
Mike Love the sound of the 25 pop.

You don't need .25 hollow points, you need practice or maybe a different gun. Shotgun perhaps?

I stand corrected ! I've never shot candles , so I can't say how affective hollowpoints are on wax. I shoot pigs with a 25 caliber Cricket . Hollowpoints make no larger wound channel than a domepoint pellet on pig skulls . Possibly on smaller game at high speeds maybe the pellet flattens faster . I honestly can't say as I don't shoot birds or squirrels and such

Those of us in Ohio don't have a plethora of pigs, we do have lots of chipmunks, tree rats, and rabbits with fair amount of ground hogs in the spring/summer. On smaller game, it does make a difference. When I get my Impact I look forward to seeing how it handles ground hogs.
I picked up a few cheap candles from Walmart just to see what the difference was between the 18.13 Exacts and a few tins of the .22 hollow points I have. BIG difference. Exact drilled a clean hole right though it. Terminator went 3/4 of the way through and Hunter extreem about 1/3 of the way though before the energy being dumped literally blew the candle into a bunch of pieces.

so far the 18.13gr JSB pellets are not only very accurate out of my gun but also extremely deadly on squirrels and pigeons love the heck out of them!
what speeds do you guys like to push them ...I am currently at around 850 fps and would like to get them at 900-950 I think for the hardest hitting and flattest trajectory combination
Thanks Jonathan

I shot them around 940-950 with my fx impact m3 laser accurate to 100 most of my shots between 30-60 i shot a big crow size of a hawk 50 yards it fall like a stone
