JSB 18.1's Skirt Thickness Differences

Call me crazy if you want and maybe someone shared this already and it got me to looking at my stock of JSB 18.1's. There are some that have thicker skirts than the others and in my case it makes a huge difference in accuracy in my FX400. The 'thin' skirted pellets are shooting a lot better than the "thick" skirted pellets. I have twelve tins of the thin ones fortunately and four of the thicker ones.

Same here. Known issue. They are still the most accurate pellets available for most of us even with the differences from tin to tin. My wolverine shoots them well either way so I guess Im fortunate. If you were so inclined, you could sort your pellets like benchrest shooters do. I personally judge accuracy by squirrel head yardage. My gun can easily achieve 70 yards squirrel head shots......which is beyond my abilities while walking through the woods. I have several positions at my disposal.....sitting, tree stance, fencepost etc. I limit my range to 100% chance of drt.......and under hunting conditions that is 50 yards for me. If I was out west with a bipod.....then the gun would be the limit. Stalking the woods down here in Louisiana is like a jungle. You have to get above vegetation to be able to see the end of your barrel....let alone my target.
How much difference do you see out of your rifle between the two?

First of all, I had crow for supper tonight., yummy. I shot three groups of five with the thick skirts and the same with the thin skirts at 50yds. I did have a off and on right to left breeze but that's about as good as it gets here so I figured all was even. After shooting yesterday it appeared that the thins were smoking the thicks but I guess it was just one of those air gun happenings. Of course it'll probably do it again tomorrow. Out of the six groups all could be covered with a dime except for the upper left target. I'll attach the target. I also attach another that shows how accurate the FX400 can be with no wind shooting the 16's. This was just after polishing the barrel.

WKOSLO, Not that I could see and yes all the pellets are the same in each tin.
Goodtogo, no I haven't yet. I think my 15.9's are even thinner than these. I know they damage easy.
