I am a hunter, not an EBR shooter. I have never been in a shooting competition with Air Rifles. I normally shot with the scope at 10 X.
When I was young I indeed use to shot very good with shotgun. I used to compete a lot in pigeon shooting. I was champion of my State one year and next year I ended second because the National Champion won me. The money of the first car I bough without help of my father came out of my shooting skills in the competitions.
Here it is the five shots group I made at 70 yards without wind. Same rifle 10X:
Let me tell you what is my way of thinking in regard of what I have seen in the forum.
The idea of a competition is to get to know who has better skills on an equal environment.
You may not achieve that with your targets because they discriminate two groups of people:
a) those that are not young enough to be able to see a so bad designed target; and
b) those who may not buy an expensive scope with 40 X super High Definition visibility.
Then your completion are not to compare skills but deep pockets to invest in the hobby.
PD.- Just to clarify I a not a critic of spending money in this hobbies, I have 6 Daystates and 5 Airgun Technology rifles, plus many other PCP's..... But I have never bought nor use a bipod nor have ever rest the stock of the rifle on a bag over an bench.
